If your answer is yes, then Jeju Island is the place for you!
That's what I thought, so I booked an independent trip from Shanghai for only 1,399 yuan/person, including round-trip airfare and four-night hotel accommodation.
I chose the Ever hotel because it's right in the city centre and close to the airport, just one stop away from bus 600. The hotel is very clean and the price is very reasonable, with an average of more than 200 yuan a night, which is very cost-effective.
Jeju Island is visa-free, so I only need to prepare my passport and go. It is important to note that the passport must be valid for more than 6 months.
After I got off the plane, I had to fill out two entry forms and a customs declaration, so I brought a pen with me in advance so I didn't have to grab it from others.

I spent four days and three nights in Jeju Island, and I will share my route with you, hoping it will be helpful to you. Here's my route:
Day1: Hotel - Yawol-eup - Health Road / City (Grand Hyatt)
On the afternoon of the first day, I went to Awol-eup, a small but delicate volcanic crater with beautiful lakes and reeds.
I was amazed to see the distant view of Mt. Halla and the cherry blossoms all over the mountain.
The ticket for Awol-eup is 6,000 won, so I think it's worth checking out.
Then I took the bus back to the city and went to Kangyang-ro, a street with many restaurants and shops, where I ate black pork, which is a specialty of Jeju Island, and the meat is tender and delicious. The price of black pork is about 20,000 won per serving, and it can be eaten by two people.
After eating, I went to Grand Hyatt, which is a big shopping mall with a lot of brands of clothing, cosmetics and electronics, where I bought some small things and some tax-free stuff like Korean face masks and snacks.
Day2: East Line Hotel - Seongsan Sunrise Peak - Dongmun Market + Dongmun Market + Qixing Shopping Street
The next morning, I went to Shiroyama Sunrise Peak, which is a famous spot where many people watch the sunrise.
I didn't wake up that early, so I just took a look at the crater and the sea view, as well as Udodo, which is a small island very close to Jeju Island and is shaped like a tadpole.
The ticket to Seongsan Sunrise Peak is 2,000 won, which I think is very cheap, and the view is beautiful and worth visiting.
Then I took the bus to Dongmen Market, which is a big traditional market with a lot of stalls selling seafood, fruits, vegetables, clothes and handicrafts, and I bought some fresh sea urchins and conch here, as well as some oranges and persimmons, all cheap and delicious.
I also had a bowl of chicken noodle soup here, which is another specialty of Jeju Island, the noodles are thin, the soup is fresh, and there are some chicken and vegetables, which is very stomach-warming.
When I had my fill, I went to Seven Star Shopping Street, which is a very lively shopping street with many shops selling clothing, accessories, cosmetics and food, as well as some cafes and bars, and a good atmosphere.
I walked around here for a while, bought some small things, and took a big head sticker, which was very interesting.
Day3: Jung-line Hotel - Seogwipo City - Daily Even-rye Market - Jeju Live Shooting Hall
On the third day, I went to Seogwipo City, which is the western part of Jeju Island and has a lot of natural scenery and cultural heritage.
I first went to the Maeil Ori Market, which is a very special market, there are many stalls selling dried fish, seaweed, seafood and souvenirs, and some stalls selling clothes and accessories, I bought some dried fish and seaweed, and some handmade jewelry, all beautiful and very reasonably priced.
Then I went to the Jeju Live Shooting Gym, which is a very exciting place, there are many kinds to choose from, and there are professional instructors to guide and it is very safe.
I chose one and hit 10 rounds, and it felt very cool and quite accurate. The price starts at 30,000 won, and depending on the type and quantity, I think it's worth a try, as it can release stress and increase self-confidence.
Day4 市区olive young—乐天税免店—新罗税免店—emart 超市 大逛特逛 大买特买+大头贴馆
On the fourth day, I went shopping in the city for a day, and I first went to Olive Young, which is a very popular cosmetics store, with many local Korean brands and some imported brands, the prices are very reasonable, and there are often discounts.
I bought some skincare and makeup here, as well as some gadgets like eyelash curlers, eyebrow blades, false eyelashes, etc., which all work well.
Then I went to Lotte Duty Free, which is a big duty-free shop with a lot of high-end brands, such as Chanel, Dior, Lancôme, etc., and some Korean brands, such as Sulwhasoo, Amore, innisfree, etc., with a lot of variety and choice.
I bought some perfumes, lipsticks, eyeshadows, etc. here, and I like them all, and the price is much cheaper than in China, and there are some freebies, which are very cost-effective.
Then I went to The Shilla Duty Free, which is another big duty-free shop, there are a lot of brands similar to Lotte Duty Free, and there are some different brands, such as Armani, Givenchy, Estee Lauder, etc., and there are also some Korean brands, such as Hanshu, Dream Makeup, Mediwell, etc., and there are many, many more.
I bought some serums, masks, hand creams, etc., all of which were moisturizing and reasonably priced, and there were some giveaways, so I had a great time.
Finally I went to Emart Supermarket, which is a big supermarket with a lot of areas selling food, daily necessities, household items, toys, stationery, etc.
I bought some Korean specialties here, such as kimchi, hot sauce, rice cakes, Korean fried chicken, etc., and some Korean snacks, such as potato chips, biscuits, chocolates, candies, etc., all of which are delicious and very cheap, and there are some coupons, which are very affordable.
