Today, there are almost 1 million permanent workers in Africa. In countries like Nigeria, which are slightly larger in Africa, the migrant population accounts for a considerable part of the Chinese population in the entire African region.
So this raises the question, that is, can you really make money by working in a region like Africa, which is very poor and backward in everyone's mind?
Let's take Nigeria as an example to analyze it for you.
How is Nigeria doing today?
As we all know, Nigeria is now the most developed country in Africa. Not only that, but Nigeria also maintains the largest population in Africa.
Therefore, many Chinese companies are now coming to Nigeria for development, because the country has a large population and relatively cheap labor.
As the largest economy in Africa, Nigeria generates almost all of its income from oil and gas exports, which support Nigeria's industrial development and lay the economic foundation for its industrial system.
And what is the situation in Nigeria? It is not full of poor shantytowns and refugees and children who do not have enough to eat, as we ordinary people usually have in Nigeria and Africa.
Of course, these situations exist in Africa and Nigeria, but in fact in the capital of Nigeria and some developed cities, although not as much as in our country and other more developed countries, are full of high-rise buildings and modern buildings.
However, the infrastructure is relatively complete and good, with wide roads for vehicles and rich neighborhoods, shops, and so on. Of course, these infrastructure construction is still far from being as good as that of some more developed countries.
However, Nigeria's economy is now developing rapidly, and it is expected that in time Nigeria's various infrastructure projects can be put on the agenda step by step.
Why do people choose to work here?
However, despite the improvement of Nigeria's infrastructure, it is not as good as many developed countries. So why do Chinese migrant workers choose to work in Nigeria?
Many people know that the standards for migrant workers in developed countries are constantly tightening, even if the standards are not tightened, because there are too many foreigners going to work, the original relaxed and comfortable employment environment in many countries has begun to roll up, and the salary is not as prominent and superior as in previous years.
Therefore, in contrast, in Africa and Nigeria, regions and countries where economic development and infrastructure are not superior, due to the entry and registration of many Chinese enterprises, the development prospects are much broader than those of many developed countries, and the salary as migrant workers is much better.
Today, there are about 100,000 Chinese residents in Nigeria, and most of these Chinese live in Nigeria's capital and most economically developed cities.
Not only that, there are also more than 1,000 domestic enterprises that have come to Nigeria for registration and settlement. Almost all of the mainland's domestic enterprises are involved in labor-intensive industries such as infrastructure projects, trade and investment.
This situation is also due to the fact that Nigerian labour is extremely cheap.
Due to the low level of education and low labor remuneration of local residents in Nigeria, many Chinese job seekers who come to work in Nigeria basically start from small management.
How much does it pay in Nigeria?
So what is the basic salary of Chinese workers after they come to Nigeria?
Since most of Nigeria's cooperation with China is infrastructure projects or basic building materials, furniture, hardware, etc. In the processing industry, migrant workers are often engineers or skilled technicians.
This type of work is extremely popular in Nigeria, and in some larger enterprises, the monthly salary of engineers and technicians can almost reach about 15,000 yuan or even 20,000 yuan.
In such an enterprise, even ordinary jobs are generally about twice as high as the wages of the same type of work in China.
In addition to these technical jobs, working as a chef in Nigeria is also a very lucrative profession. This may sound overwhelming to many people at first glance, but if you think about it, you will find that the popularity of this profession is very reasonable.
After all, as we all know, Africa's development is relatively slow, so his catering industry is not developed. Moreover, due to regional differences, the local food in Nigeria is often unaccustomed to migrant workers.
Therefore, in such a situation, chefs and Chinese restaurants who are good at cooking Chinese food are particularly valuable. In particular, some large domestic enterprises will even hire Chinese chefs to purchase and process ingredients due to the large number of Chinese employees.
Due to its remote location and close proximity to China, the wages of this type of work are often very high, almost the same as the salary of some highly skilled technicians.
And because the environmental security in Africa is usually not very good, most companies will arrange a driver for the chef when he goes out to purchase, so as to save the procurement time and protect the personal safety of the chef.
In addition, Nigeria is more attractive to Chinese migrant workers because of the low prices here.
After all, in addition to high wages, many developed countries often have problems such as high prices and high rents. Therefore, in developed countries, in many cases, about half or even more of your salary is used to pay for living expenses and rent. As a result, many migrant workers will not be able to save any money all year round.
But Neil Li Yaze is different, and the price level here is extremely low. In addition, many Chinese companies often allocate supporting accommodation for employees, as well as some employee canteens and other infrastructure to ensure basic accommodation for employees.
So that's why many people can't save in developed countries, but they can do it in Africa.
But nothing can be said to be so absolute. Traveling thousands of miles to a foreign country to work, this matter itself is very variable, so no one dares to pack a ticket to say that as long as they go to Africa, they will definitely be able to save a lot of savings to return to their hometown to retire or start a family.
What's more, Africa and the continent are really far apart, and various cultural Xi are also different, so there will still be people who spend a lot of money to come to Africa and then return home, so whether they can earn money or not, how much money can they earn? These are still relatively different from person to person.
