"Guanshe Water Village" Pearl Spring

Text/Li Zhensheng

Recitation/Wang Xiaoyin

The early Qing Dynasty poet Zhu Kuntian once wrote "Spring Pearl Spring Miscellaneous Poems", two of which were written like this: "Who knows the official house, like a water village map." All those who have read this poem admire the poet's unique ability to observe and generalize, and he uses "Guanshe Water Village" to describe the Pearl Spring Compound, which not only captures its prominent official status, but also highlights the wonderful charm of the spring water, which is really very appropriate, and presents a beautiful and mysterious Pearl Spring Compound vividly in front of people.

Pearl Spring is one of the four major springs in jinan's old town, because the spring is occupied by the official family circle very early, so Zhu Kuntian called it "official house". The first person to build a house in the circle here was Zhang Rong, a native of Jinan, who served as the marshal of Shangshu Province and Terracotta Army in Shandong province at the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, and was named "Duke of Jinan" by Kublai Khan, the ancestor of the Yuan Dynasty, for his meritorious service against the Southern Song Dynasty. When he first saw this place, he built a large number of construction projects, not only turning the scenic spot into a mansion, but also building many pavilions in the courtyard, the most famous of which is the Baiyun Tower. According to historical records, standing on the roof of baiyun tower, the north can see the sparkling of Ming Lake, the south can see the smoke of Foshan, especially after the snow, the column overlooks, the snow cage four wilds, pear blossoms and thousands of trees, white clouds, silver light flickering, this scene is listed by posterity as one of the sixteen scenery of the calendar "Baiyun Ji Snow".

In the Ming Dynasty, the Zhang Mansion changed its courtyard and became the Dewang Mansion. King De was the title of Emperor Ming's second son, Zhu Jianyun, whose mansion was originally in Dezhou, but he was fascinated by the beautiful scenery of Jinan, and moved here in the third year of Emperor Mingxian's chenghua (1467), and after years of expansion, it had a considerable scale: south to Quancheng Road, north to Houzaimen, east to Xianxi Lane, west to Furong Street, accounting for almost one-third of the old city's territory. In the twelfth year of Ming Chongzhen (1639), the Qing army attacked Jinan, and the Dewang Mansion that had survived here for more than 170 years was also burned by war with the execution of the seventh De King Zhu Youshu.

In the fifth year of the Qing Kangxi Dynasty (1666), Zhou Youde, the governor of Shandong, built a yamen commonly known as fuyuan on the ruins of the Dewang mansion, and since then all the inspectors of Shandong have worked here, and the existing carrier hall is the lobby of the court office where the inspectors tried cases and administered the government. It is worth mentioning that successive inspectors have taken good care of Pearl Spring, constantly repairing and adding scenery to make it more and more beautiful and perfect, so that every time Kangxi and Qianlong pass through Jinan in the south, they have to use Pearl Spring as a palace to rest their feet. You think, even the emperor has stayed here, and Pearl Spring is not the biggest "official residence" under the heavens!

When it comes to "water village", it naturally refers to the spring tribe here. Among the four major springs in Jinan, the number of pearl springs is the largest, although many of them have disappeared, but the existing pearl springs, Xiting springs, scattered water springs, as well as the Furong Springs, Mao Miao Springs, Cinnabar Springs, Tengjiao Springs and so on outside the courtyard are quite famous and dazzling. In particular, although the pearl spring is as calm as a mirror without waves, it is delicate and beautiful, and a string of blisters is crystal clear like pearls, suddenly large and small, suddenly gathered and scattered, intermittent, suddenly and slowly, strung together by the golden thread of the sun, becoming the most chic necklace in the world.

I like to see the appearance of the confluence of springs, like when the patrol was out of the patrol, full of style and extraordinary. The leader is the Pearl Spring, if there is no one next to it, it can be called the boss, surrounded by springs, closely following the left and right, along the way, swinging vigorously, through the Jade Belt River, around the Qushui Pavilion, around the Hundred Flowers Island, through the White Snow Building, across the Quehua Bridge, and finally into the Daming Lake.

Remind tourists to pay attention to the "Guanshe Water Village", and don't forget to see the Qianlong Royal Monument, Ming Opera Stage, Fujie Pavilion, Begonia Garden and many other places of interest and historical sites, as well as the famous thousand-year-old Tang Locust, Song La, Song Begonia, Cinnamon Willow and other rare ancient trees. Whenever migratory birds return to the north, hundreds of herons and doves invariably gather here, go to Daming Lake to hunt during the day, and return to the ancient trees at night, which is the icing on the cake for the "Guanshe Water Village" and becomes a strange scenery in the Pearl Spring.
