According to the data, in the first 11 months, the mainland's waterway freight volume increased by 9.0% year-on-year, the port completed a cargo throughput of 15.51 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.4%, and the port container throughput reached 280 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%.
Since the beginning of this year, the Ministry of Transport has continued to expand the scale of effective investment. In the first 11 months, the country completed 182.9 billion yuan of investment in water transport construction, a year-on-year increase of 23.7%, which has exceeded the level of the whole year of 2022, and the investment in water transport construction has increased for five consecutive years.
With the increase of investment, the shortcomings of water transport infrastructure are being made up at an accelerated pace, and the construction of major projects such as the new western land-sea channel (Pinglu) canal project and the container terminal in the Xiaoyangshan North Operation Area has been accelerated.
