No one takes seriously "world champion" Thirty-one years ago, Liang Zaihao won the first Toyo Securities Cup

author:弈道秋声

As we all know, the first world champion of Korean Go was Cho Hwan-hyun, who won the first Ying's Cup on September 5, 1989. What about the second one? Xu Fengsu, who won the second Ying's Cup, or Lee Chang-ho, who won the third Toyo Securities Cup? You're still calculating which of these two races ends first, and a faint voice comes – what about me? Do I count?

Liang Jae-ho, who won the first Toyo Securities Cup on September 20, 1989, although no one in the Chinese chess community has ever regarded him as a world champion, when the Korean media calculated the "100 crowns" of the professional Go World Championship, they counted all the toyo Securities Cups, not just from the third edition. China also doesn't see the Central Cup, which a continental player has never played, as an official World Series – if we don't participate, your championship will have no weight.

However, when South Korea launched the Toyo Securities Cup, it was initially regarded as an "international competition" - if the "World Series" is still too reluctant. The first Toyo Securities Cup invited Japanese and Chinese Taipei chess players to participate, and the second also invited three Chinese mainland players - Liu Xiaoguang, Yu Bin, Zhang Wendong, not as some of our media advertised, "the first two Toyo Securities Cups are Korean domestic competitions". Of course, the number of invited foreign chess players is small, and the weight is not enough, and it is indeed difficult to recognize the title of the "World Series". Since the third edition, China's first-class masters have begun to compete, and Japan's super-first-class chess players have also appeared, which recognizes the status of the Toyo Securities Cup, but when Lee Chang-ho won the third championship, we did not seem to recognize his status as "world champion" for the first time.

Anyway, the first two Toyo Securities Cups are rarely mentioned, and Liang Zaihao's victory has not set off any ripples in the international chess world at all, I don't know if this is his little sadness?

Liang Zaihao was born in 1963 and entered the section in 1979. Like most Korean chess players at that time, he was "born at the wrong time", and the golden period of his career caught up with the invincible era of Cho Kao Hyun, although he repeatedly seized the right to challenge chess battles, he could not break through the thick wall of Cao's family, and was sadly included in the "Challenge Top Five" of Korean Go, which was a green leaf with a lot of fame.

The first Edition of the Toyo Securities Cup was launched at the end of 1988, and in fact it was a move by the Korean chess community to catch up with the Fujitsu Cup and the Ying Cup. Cho did not participate in the Preparation for the Ying Cup, but the rest of the Elite of the Korean Chess Community did their best. Japan's Yoshio Ishida and Hiroshi Yamashiro, Chinese Taipei's Peng Jinghua and Lin Shengxian were invited to participate, and the lineup was considerable.

Liang Zaihao encountered the favorite Yamashiro Hiroshi in the first round, and won in the middle of the set, which was impressive. Yoshio Ishida lost to Liu Changhe in the second round, and the two Chinese Taipei players failed to make waves. The Korean chess player successfully won the quarterfinals, which must be very proud.

In the quarterfinals, Liang Jae-ho overthrew The Second Man in South Korea at the time, Seo Bong-so, and the up-and-coming Lee Chang-ho was eliminated by Yoo Chang-hyuk. In the other two sets, Kim Hee-jung defeated Seo Neng-wook and Jang So-young eliminated Kim In. In the semifinals, Liang Jae-ho defeated Kim Hee-jung and Jang So-young defeated Yoo Chang-hyuk, and the final unexpectedly unfolded between Leung Jae-ho and Jang So-young.

The final, like later, is a five-fold victory and defeat. After Zhang Xiuying won one set first, Liang Zaihao pulled two cities in a row to reverse the first. In the fourth set, Liang Zaihao rushed to the championship battle.

The fourth round of the 1st Toyo Securities Cup Final

Liang Zaihao won the black mid-game against Zhang Xiuying

Date of the match: 20 September 1989

Zhang Xiuying was born in 1952, and his reputation at that time was significantly higher than that of Liang Zaihao. Also a member of the "Challenge Top Five", Jang So-young was even more brutally destroyed by Cho Hwan-hyun, but he had a high winning rate against "Strike" and was one of the best in the Korean chess world.

Reaching the final of the Toyo Securities Cup, and avoiding Cho Hyun-hyun and Seo Bong-so, everyone thinks that Jang So-young wants to fulfill his dream of a champion, but Liang Jae-ho's desire for the championship is not inferior to him, and, looking at the names of the two, it is obvious that the domineering side leak of Liang Jae-ho is more powerful, haha~

Liang Zaihao took the lead in the black, mastered the match point, and started steadily to take the ground.

When the black 19 hangs the horn, the white 20 two clamp is aimed at the black worry-free corner that is tightly pressed to the upper left.

Black 21 double flying swallow, black 31 flexible.

By black 39, there are many black chess pieces in the field, and the whole is thick and easy to master.

At the beginning of the white 40, Zhang Xiuying vigorously expanded the upper position.

  Black 47 invasion is appropriate.

White 48 first defended the side empty.

Mid-abdomen attack and defense become the key.

Black 5 below the tengling technique is skilled.

  White 18 good order.

White chess first splits the black chess piece, and then the white 26 commonly used hand tendons.

Black 29 cut off a son, is no longer an easy form to attack.

  White 32 grabs short.

Liang Zaihao grasped the fighter, black 35 and 37 counterattacked, the two sons of white chess were disconnected, and the flames of war would burn.

Bai 46 jumped out, and Zhang Xiuying, who had a steady chess style, could only quit a battle at this time.

Black 3-pointed, white chess looks rather difficult.

White 4 tendons, forcing black 9 to make up chess.

White 10 or less clever, 18, 20 silk buckle.

Bai Qi broke out of the encirclement and reversed the attack and defense.

Bai 32 also had to catch the black chess dragon above, and Zhang Xiuying was more and more courageous in the war.

White 36 below to find the tone.

To the white 48 fly, the black chess dragon has to do the work.

White 50 first returned to the lower dragon, waiting for the black chess to deal with two weak pieces.

Black 3 clip, Liang Zaihao first settled on the upper piece.

White 4 flying, black 5 leaning is a good hand.

Because the contact between the white chess pieces is not strong, after the black 7 span, the white chess pieces have to let the black eat the white 6 son.

If both black chess pieces are successfully done, the white chess pieces are obviously not enough on the ground.

White 20 tightly held his breath and was tough.

White 22, 24 figure poor dagger see!

White 26 holds up a robbery, and then 28 rushes, and the big dragon above the black chess piece becomes a robber. However, in the process, Bai Qi's loss on the right side is not small, and Liang Zaihao still has a lot of room for maneuver.

Black 39 Rush is ready to wipe out the robbery.

Bai Qi could not find a bigger robbery material, so he had to go to Bai 42.

Black 45 eliminates the robbery, and white 46 eats the tail of the black chess piece, forming a transformation.

After taking stock, the harvest of white chess is limited, and black chess is still in the lead with the previous real and short advantages.

Liang Zaihao, who got the first hand, black 47 pulls, white chess can not be blocked, had to go 48, and then into a conversion.

Black 51 was the first to be long, and Liang Zaihao was sure that the victory had arrived.

To the black 57 fly, the black chessboard surface 10 eyes advantage is unshakable, Zhang Xiuying cast.

3-1 win on aggregate, Liang Zaihao finally won the championship! And the champion of international competitions! The first Toyo Securities Cup winner was only half a month later than the first Ying's Cup, and although no one recognized Liang Jae-ho's status as "world champion", he also became a hot figure in Korean Go at that time.

This championship established Liang Zaihao's chess status, and he later participated in a number of world competitions, reaching the quarterfinals of the second Ying Shi Cup (defeated Rui Naiwei), and in the 1996 1st Three Star Cup, Wang Licheng and Kobayashi Kobayashi Guangyi reached the semi-finals, and then lost to the final champion Yoshiki Ieda.

Later, Liang Jae-ho served as the chairman of the Korean Chess Academy, and his influence grew day by day.

Although not recognized as a "world champion", Liang Zaihao's career is enough to be proud of.
