The latest update to the official website of Escape from Tarkov has been deleted, but many players are not very familiar with some quests, here is that in "Escape from Tarkov", in the middle of the mechanic quest chain, he will give you a mission called Scouting, allowing you to explore some hard-to-reach places in the factory map. Completing the mission is fairly straightforward, as you don't need any special keys or expensive items to complete the mission. The biggest threat, like anything that requires you to go to the factory, is the small size of the map and the other players and Scavs scattered all over the place. We'll cover everything you need to know to complete the Escape from Tarkov reconnaissance mission.
How to complete the Mechanic mission in Escape from Tarkov
Scouting requires you to visit four PMC hideouts in the factory, as the map is roughly square and you can use any corner as a starting point. These hideouts can also be easily accessed from the four corners of the map's main floor, and we'll be using the forklift's spawn point as a reference point.
Note that you don't need to reach all four hideouts in a single playthrough, but once you've visited all of them, you'll need to make a successful escape to complete the mission.
Location of the exit from the basement of the factory
Just outside the forklift, you'll see a staircase with rusty guardrails on either side. There is a corridor leading to the left, and there is a red door nearby. Walk down the stairs and turn around to look at the dark corners of the stairwell.
The lock-up door there leads to the basement exit, and while you'll need the factory emergency exit key to actually open and use it, simply approaching the door – along with the other two locked-out exit doors – is enough to complete the scout sub-mission.
Exit location of Gate 3 of the factory
Gate 3 is located directly west of the forklift. The easiest way to do this is through the glass corridor – the corridor that leads from the forklift's narrow window to the west – all the way to the end. Exit the hallway, turn right, and walk through two small doors on the big red metal warehouse door.
You'll find Door 3 behind the second door, near the Green Glowstick.
Exit location of Gate 0 of the factory
Gate 0 is both the exit and the spawn point of the factory. It is located at opposite angles to the forklift. You can identify the room by the sun turning it yellow, the green crate in the middle of the room, and the path at the other end to the second floor.
The door to Door 0 is just behind the PMC's spawn point, and as in the basement, you only need to get close to the locked door to complete the sub-quests.
Location of the exit of the factory medical tent
The medical tent is one of the easiest to spot, as a large TerraLabs medical tent is right in front of it. As the southeasternmost exit of the factory, you can get there via the corridor that leads from the forklift to the left (south) or directly from Gate 0 to the east.
Note the boss spawn and the possible spawn of the PMC in the hallway between Gate 0 and the Medi Tent. This exit also requires a key, but simply getting close to the door is enough to complete the subtask.
Once you've visited all four hideouts, simply use any of the exits to complete the mission – you must survive the game instead of simply passing through. Remember to click the finish button in the mechanic's mission menu and you're done.
