Born in 1940 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, Xu Yihou is currently the Chief Physician and Professor, as well as an academic advisor to the Chinese Medical Association of Singapore.
He was not born in a family of traditional Chinese medicine, his family was just an ordinary working family in Wuhan, Hubei, affected by the turbulent social environment and poor family background at that time, and did not receive a good enlightenment education in his youth, until he came into contact with traditional Chinese medicine when he was young, and was able to receive a systematic education.

But he knows that in order to make a difference in the field of dermatology, he must put in more effort and time than others.
He wakes up an hour earlier every morning than others and reads dermatology books to learn about the latest research results and treatments.
He slept an hour later than others every night, insisted on doing skin pathological biopsy analysis, and constantly improved his diagnosis and treatment level.
It is precisely because of this perseverance that his professional knowledge has been rapidly improved, and it has also laid a solid foundation for him to become a dermatology expert in the future.
In the past 20 years, Xu Yihou has compiled more than 10 TCM works with a total of 4 million words, such as "Xu Yihou's Clinical Experience in Dermatology", "TCM Diagnosis and Treatment of Dermatology" and "TCM Therapeutics of Connective Tissue Diseases", and has published more than 100 academic reviews and reviews in various authoritative medical journals.
2. Good teacher
The road of life is inseparable from the guidance and help of a good teacher. Xu Yihou has met many mentors, and their experience and knowledge have had a profound impact on him.
His first teacher was Mr. Shan Canggui, who was known as a famous doctor in Wuhan, who learned various skills in diagnosing and treating diseases, and also read the required Chinese medicine books under the recommendation of the teacher, and made great progress in theory and practice.
In the 70s of the 20th century, he was influenced by Professor Yu Guangyuan, the founder of modern dermatology, and developed the spirit of rigorous study.
Later, he was fortunate to learn Xi under Mr. Zhao Bingnan and learned the refinement, specialization, breadth and breadth of medicine. Later, he also received the teaching of old-timers such as Professor Hu Chuanhua, Zhu Renkang, Zhang Zanchen, and Gu Bohua.
With the guidance and help of these mentors, he continued to make progress in the field of dermatology and gradually became a dermatology expert.
3. Opportunities
Opportunity is another important factor for success. Xu Yihou started his career in surgical diagnosis and treatment in Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and was transferred to the Department of Dermatology due to the opportunity, where he was able to Xi with Wang Xinzhi, a well-known dermatologist, and enriched his clinical experience, during which he spent five years completing the first draft of the "Compendium of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment of Dermatological Diseases".
In the early 80s of the 20th century, Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine recommended his book manuscript to Hubei People's Publishing House, which inspired him to research and collate the literature on TCM dermatology.
After the reform and opening up, Xu Yihou met the opportunity to go abroad again, and visited the United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong, spreading the expertise and advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of skin diseases, and promoting the culture of traditional Chinese medicine.
