Three "world's best", the Shuangbao Bridge of the Chongqing-Hunan Double-track Expressway is one of the key projects of the Chongqing-Hunan Double-Line Expressway, with a bridge length of 1,620 meters, a single bridge deck width of 16 meters, and 6 lanes in both directions. It is the world's first in the world in terms of "the world's first double arch span", "the world's first cable crane span of independent cranes" and "the world's first cable lifting weight of the same structure".

The location of the Shuangbao Bridge is exactly the "Shuanggou Valley" of the Dadong River and the Xiaohegou in Wulong District. The typical "W Canyon topography + karst geology" brought great challenges to the design team. According to the topography and landform where the bridge is located, after repeated exploration and measurement on the spot, and then combined with various complex conditions such as stress under special geological conditions, the design team finally determined that the structure of the Shuangbao Bridge is a double-span continuous upward bearing concrete-filled steel tube truss arch bridge. With a double-span diameter of 2×405 meters, this bridge erected in the deep mountains of Bayu has become the world's largest double-span double-arch bridge under construction.

In order to gnaw this "hard bone", the project team vigorously carried out technical research, and successfully built an intelligent cable active balance control system integrating Beidou, Internet, cloud computing, sensors, automatic control and visualization and other cutting-edge technologies, and applied it to solve the problem of unbalanced buckle hanging in the middle pier for the first time in China. After the arch rib assembly, the project team also applied the 3D laser scanning digital pre-assembly technology to the production and installation of steel arch ribs for the first time in the country, solved various problems that may occur in the physical assembly process in advance, and successfully controlled the assembly accuracy at the millimeter level.

Up to now, 125 bridges, accounting for 90%, and 58 tunnels, accounting for 94%, have been completed on the Chongqing-Hunan double-track expressway. The second phase of the electromechanical, traffic safety and greening project of the Yuxiang double-track project has entered the large-scale construction stage.

With a total mileage of 280 kilometers and a total estimated investment of 64 billion yuan in five districts and counties of Banan, Nanchuan, Wulong, Pengshui and Youyang, Chongqing is the largest single expressway project in Chongqing, and it is also one of the most difficult projects in the history of Chongqing expressway construction. According to the current construction progress, by the end of 2024, the Banan-Wulong section and the Pengshui-Youyang section of the Chongqing-Hunan double-track expressway will be opened to traffic, and it is expected that the Chongqing-Hunan double-track expressway will be fully completed and opened to traffic in 2025. At that time, the time for citizens to drive from the central city to Youyang and Xiushan will be shortened by more than 1 hour, and Chongqing will also add a new highway to the sea.
