It is understood that as a traditional agricultural county, the development of the tail hair processing industry in Luyi County originated from a chance discovery by local villagers. At the end of the 70s of the 20th century, Xie Guoyin, a villager of Songkeng Village, Zhangdian Town, learned that the discarded sheep's tail wool could be exported to earn foreign exchange after processing. At that time, the villagers of Luyi County generally raised sheep and had a large number of raw materials for tail hair processing. Because of the low threshold and technical content, driven by Xie Guoyin and others, the tail hair processing small workshop in Luyi County has developed rapidly, with nearly 3,000 and more than 40,000 employees at its peak.
Nowadays, the production of "small workshops" has long been transformed into enterprise agglomeration. In the 1,500-acre makeup brush industrial park in Luyi County, makeup brush entrepreneurship town, makeup brush business block, makeup brush industry incubation park and other makeup brush industry cultivation platforms have come into being in recent years, and have become a characteristic pillar industry driving the county's economic development.

In the Luyi County Makeup Brush Industrial Park, an average of more than ten new products are developed every day, and after passing the test, they will be introduced to the global market.
After innovation and development, Luyi's makeup brush products have been continuously upgraded, from low-grade brushes to medium and high-end combination brushes, from a single powder, eyebrow brush, foundation brush, etc. to blush brushes, eyeshadow brushes, eyeliner brushes, eyelash brushes and other 28 categories.
From the very beginning of tail hair processing, to the processing of products, to the creation of its own brand, the makeup brush industry in Luyi County has been seeking transformation and upgrading. At present, Luyi has cultivated more than 160 enterprises engaged in related industries, with annual sales of 13 billion yuan and foreign exchange earnings of 290 million US dollars.
