Preface
During the Warring States period, there were seven very powerful vassal states, and the rest of the small states were annexed by the Seven Heroes of the Warring States.
So what are the seven heroes of the Warring States Period? Which province are they in now? Let's discuss them today!
State of Qin
In the early days of the Zhou Dynasty, the Qin State was not made a vassal state, and during the period of King Xiao of Zhou, because the leaders of the Qin State made great contributions to King Xiao of Zhou, the Qin State was made a vassal state of the Zhou Dynasty.
Later, in the Western Zhou Dynasty, when King Zhou You's life was in danger, the Qin State successfully protected the son of King Zhou You at a critical time, and then he was promoted to a vassal state.
At the end of the Warring States Period, the Qin Dynasty became the first power with its dominant strength after experiencing the Shang Dynasty reform, and successively destroyed the remaining six countries, and the scene of the seven heroes competing for hegemony ended, and the world was ruled by Qin.
So when the Qin State did not unify the world, which province is it now?
From the perspective of the territory, the Qin State is the present-day Shaanxi region, which also involves parts of Sichuan and Gansu, but the capital is in the Xianyang region of present-day Shaanxi.
楚国
As one of the vassal states of the Warring States Period, the State of Chu was also known as "Jing Chu", and was located in the Yangtze River basin during the Warring States Period.
At that time, the state of Chu, when the state of Qin had not yet implemented the Shang Dynasty reform, the strength of the state of Chu was the most powerful among all countries, with a strong army and excellent military quality.
In addition to its military strength, the administrative power and economic development of the Chu State also surpassed that of other countries, and among the Seven Heroes, the Chu State was one of the overlords at that time, and few people provoked them.
Bronze can represent Chu culture, bronze is also one of the symbols of ancient Chinese civilization, at that time Chu bronze manufacturing, whether in terms of quality, or production technology, is far beyond other countries.
So such a powerful state of Chu, such as which province is it today?
The capital of the state of Chu is located in what is now Hubei, involving some areas such as Henan, Hunan, and Anhui, because of the several migrations of the state of Chu, it has its shadow in many places.
Qi country
Qi is one of the earliest vassal states in the cycle, and the founding monarch is the well-known Jiang Ziya.
1000 years ago, Jiang Ziya helped King Wu of Zhou to destroy the Shang, established the state of Qi, since the founding of the country, under the leadership of Jiang Ziya, the economy has developed rapidly, and the number of troops is tens of thousands.
When it was passed to Qi Henggong, the land was already on the verge of the sea, and Qi Henggong also relied on sea resources to become the head of the Spring and Autumn Five Hegemons, and in 386 BC, Qi became one of the Seven Heroes of the Warring States.
Under the development of the Qi State, the reform was carried out to achieve the integration of the military and the government, and in the middle and late Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the Qi State became the overlord of the Central Plains.
Qi is in today's Shandong region, involving Hebei, Shanxi and other regions, and the capital is in today's Zibo, Shandong.
Yan Guo
As a vassal state of the Zhou Dynasty, before 1044 AD, the younger brother of King Wu of Zhou, Ji Zheng, was made a prince because of his meritorious service in destroying the Shang, and then established the Yan State.
Yan is also the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, a country that has existed for the longest time among all the vassal states, and among the vassal states that were mainly agricultural at that time, Yan was the most backward, resulting in a small population and a national strength that was not as good as other countries.
At that time, the area where Yan was located was outside the Central Plains, a relatively remote area, which was one of the reasons why Yan was not frequently attacked by other countries at that time.
The famous Jing Ke assassinated the King of Qin in history, which was sent by the Yan State at that time, and after the failure of Jing Ke's assassination, the Yan State was also destroyed.
The kingdom of Yan is in present-day Hebei, as well as the three eastern provinces, and the capital of the country is in present-day Beijing.
Zhao Guo
Zhao is an important vassal state in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, and its strength is second only to Qin, with its strong national strength, it has become one of the "Seven Heroes of the Warring States", and Zhao is also the first of the six states of Shandong.
In the late Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Qin and Zhao were "sworn enemies", but their ancestors were the same person, both descendants of the Shang Dynasty.
At that time, the Zhao State adopted the method of alliance and formed the "Three Jin Alliance" with Wei and Korea, launched a series of wars, and the national strength also became very strong.
However, the alliance broke down later, and Zhao's civil war continued, leading to a declining national power.
After the reform of Zhao Wuling's Hufu cavalry and archery, Zhao's national strength quickly became stronger, which also laid a solid foundation for Zhao's hegemony in the future.
The state of Zhao also had territories in present-day Hebei, Inner Mongolia, and Shanxi, and its capital was in present-day Handan, Hebei.
Wei
In the 250-year history of the Warring States period, Wei was the first country to become strong and powerful.
Wei was the first to implement law reforms, political reforms, water conservancy construction, etc., and gradually became the most powerful state in the early Warring States period.
During the 25 years of Wei Wuhou's reign, Wu Qi was appointed to carry out reforms, and after the reforms, the national strength continued to rise, and finally seized most of the Chu State in the Central Plains, which was once called the overlord of the Central Plains.
After Wei Wuhou's son King Wei Hui ascended the throne, the Wei State had dominated the Central Plains for a hundred years.
Wei occupied most of Shanxi in today's Henan region, and its capital was in Kaifeng, Henan.
Korea
In 403 AD, the Han family was recognized by King Weilie of Zhou, and was made a prince, and Korea was established.
South Korea's famous weapon, the crossbow, makes all countries afraid, and the range of South Korea's crossbow can reach 800 meters, which is very terrifying.
When South Korea's national strength was the strongest, it was when Han Zhaohou was in power, he used Shen Bu Harm as the phase, and after the internal renovation and reform, South Korea's national strength was enhanced.
However, Korea is located in the Central Plains and is surrounded by the powerful Wei, Chu, Qin, and Qi states, so it is difficult to have development space and development opportunities.
So why can South Korea be called one of the Seven Heroes of the Warring States?
The crossbow is one of the reasons, and another important reason is that it inherited the strong family foundation of the Jin State, and after the three kingdoms of Wei, Zhao and Han divided the Jin Kingdom, Korea was divided into the largest iron ore area at that time.
It is by virtue of these inherited rich family backgrounds that South Korea can become one of the Seven Heroes of the Warring States.
Eventually, in 230, Korea became the first of the six states of Shandong to be destroyed by Qin.
South Korea is in the area of Xinzheng City, Henan Province.
epilogue
When the Qin State became the strongest state of the Seven Heroes of the Warring States through the Shang Dynasty Reform, it successively defeated the three kingdoms of Han, Zhao, and Wei, and then defeated the Chu State.
In the end, only Qi was left to contend with Qin, and Qi defeated the invading Yan State, and finally under the alliance of Qin and the other five states, Qi was finally defeated.
In 221 AD, it entered the era of Great Qin's unification of the world.
