Lexus

Time is pushed forward by 2-3 years, and the price of new Lexus cars will have to be increased, and users will be allowed to add 4S store decoration in disguise. Even so, Lexus's sales are even showing a growth trend, and consumers' complaints about it are also focused on price increases, and they still appreciate its quality.

In 2023, everything has changed.

To give a very simple example, Lexus ES not only did not increase the price, but even had a discount of about 50,000 yuan, and the luxury car that used to cost more than 300,000 yuan to land can now be done within 300,000 yuan. Even so, Lexus's sales are still declining, and its sales in the first half of this year were only 85,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 30%, and it can be said that it will be more difficult for Lexus to achieve the sales target of 200,000 units according to this trend.

Lexus's suffering today stems from the rise of its own brand and the lack of core competitiveness of its own product power, ideal and Weilai, the average price of their products is about 300,000, which greatly seizes the market of Lexus, coupled with the advantages of its own petrol-electric hybrid models are no longer obvious, and the decrease in sales is inevitable.

In addition, limited by Toyota's pure electric strategy, the performance of Lexus's pure electric vehicle market is also average, completely relying on Lexus RZ to support it, but the price of the new car 35.9-369,900 yuan has cut into the price hinterland of its own brand new energy vehicles, making it more and more difficult.

Porsche

Lexus is also sharing the same illness as Porsche.

In the first three quarters of this year, Porsche delivered 60,700 vehicles in the Chinese market, down 12% year-on-year, making it the only single market in the global Porsche market to decline. You must know that from 2015 to 2022, Porsche's sales in the Chinese market are larger than those in the North American market, and the growth rate is still fierce.

Porsche fell here for a similar reason to Lexus.

China's luxury car market is fiercely competitive, has changed from the incremental market to the stock market, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi are Porsche's favorable competitors, and now most of the people who buy luxury cars belong to the replacement or additional purchase, and they will be inclined to a certain extent when they choose new energy vehicles, and Lotus, Tesla, NIO and other brands provide them with new choices, on the other hand, Porsche only has a pure electric sports car Taycan to choose. Of course, the more important thing is that consumption will be downgraded this year, and more people are willing to spend less money to buy a more cost-effective product.

Weimar

Although GAC Mitsubishi withdrew from the Chinese market, GAC Mitsubishi, which is backed by GAC Group and Japan's Mitsubishi, at least did not leave a mess, neither debts nor arrears of wages in the upstream and downstream supply chains, but properly resettled employees.

On the other hand, WM Motor, since founder Shen Hui ran away under the pretext of participating in the Munich Motor Show in September, he has left a large number of employees with debts and unpaid wages. There was even a phenomenon that some APPs of WM Motor's in-vehicle system could not be used normally, which seriously affected the user experience of WM car owners.

In fact, from this point of view, consumers buy a car, whether it is a traditional car or new energy, a brand endorsed by a large manufacturer will be more guaranteed, although the car will be discontinued, but there will be a support for after-sales in the future.
