Eurostar|Voted the best of the round: half-time hat-trick!
The new season of Europe's top five leagues has kicked off, and Tencent News has launched the "Eurostar" column, inviting fans and friends to vote for the best player of the round after each round. Judged every Monday, from Monday to Sunday of the previous week, the selection is based on the stars who have played well in the top five leagues or European competitions. Here is the shortlist for the Player of the Week:
Mohamed Salah (Premier League Liverpool)
Liverpool drew 1-1 with Arsenal, Salah scored the equalizer, and the Premier League's 151 goals officially ranked 10th in the all-time scorer list, and also became the first player in Premier League history to score double goals against Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal.
Solanke (Premier League Bournemouth)
Bournemouth narrowly beat Nottingham Forest 3-2, with 26-year-old England striker Sollanke not only netting a hat-trick but also a 94th-minute winner for the first time in his career.
Roberto (La Liga Barcelona)
Barça's 3-2 win over Almeria saw Roberto score his second brace in his career, the first time in his first-team career, having only played twice for Barça's B team.
Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)
In Atletico's 3-3 Getafe game, Antoine Griezmann scored twice to level Aragonés with 173 goals and became the joint-top scorer in Atletico's history, a historic moment that made him a candidate for the Player of the Week.
Schick (Bundesliga Bayer Leverkusen)
Bayer Leverkusen won the Bundesliga halfway with an unbeaten record, and Schick scored a hat-trick at half-time, considering that he has only made nine appearances in all competitions this season and has scored six goals.
Vlahovic (Serie A, Juventus)
Vlahovic came off the bench to win with a header to help Juve beat Frosinone 2-1, finally ending a three-game goal drought, and he said after the game that he had no problem with coach Allegri.
Tumbia (Ligue 1 Brest)
The 20-year-old Brest midfielder Camory Dombia scored a hat-trick in seven minutes and completed his quadruple at half-time, while he scored just one goal in his first 11 games this season and is worth only €2 million.
