Huang Chong was born in Dalian in 1963. When he was a child, Huang Chong's family lived next to the Dalian Stadium, former international Gai Zengchen was his neighbor, Huang Chong's father was not a professional football player, but also a member of the factory football team, and the primary school he himself attended was also the cradle of famous football stars: Dalian Northeast Road Primary School. All of the above seems to doom Huang Chongjiang to embark on the road of football.
After that, Huang Chong entered Dalian Amateur Sports School and was selected to join the Dalian Junior Team. In 1980, when Liaoning football star Ni Jide came to Dalian to choose football seedlings, Huang Chong, who had excellent physical fitness and speed, and reached 11.6 seconds in 100 meters, was taken in by Ni Jide and brought into the Liaoning youth team. In 1984, the previously poor Liaoning team underwent personnel reorganization, Ni Jide became the head coach of the Liaoning team, and Huang Chong was also promoted to the Liaoning first team. However, due to the abundant talent of the Liaoning team at this time, Huang Chong spent more time sitting on the bench to watch the game.

In 1985, Huang Chong finally ushered in his own opportunity, because Li Huajun often reported to the national team, Huang Chong began to get more opportunities to play, and he did not live up to the trust of the coach, contributed key goals in many games, and finally helped Liaoning team win the 1985 National Football League Championship, which was the second crown of Liaoning's ten champions.
In the third FA Cup in 1986, Huang Chong began to erupt. As the champion of last year's league, Liaoning team did not need to participate in the preliminary round, the final group, Liaoning team and Bayi, north, Hubei three teams in the same group, the result of Liaoning team three wins all three wins the group to reach the quarterfinals. Among them, against the Bayi team, Huang Chongmei scored twice, scored another goal against Hubei, and scored three goals in three games, accounting for one-third of the entire team of the Liaoning team, which can be said to have made the first contribution.
In the quarter-finals, Liaoning easily defeated Shaanxi 3-0 to advance to the final four.
In the semi-finals against the Guangdong youth team, Huang Chong scored the only goal of the game, helping Liaoning eliminate the opponent and enter the final.
In the final battle, Li Huajun sealed his throat with a sword, and Liaoning won the third FA Cup with a 1-0 victory over Beijing, which was the second time that Liaoning won the FA Cup after the first FA Cup in 1984, and it was also the third crown of Liaoning's ten champions.

In the 1987 National Football League, Liaoning team made great progress and finally lifted the league championship trophy. In the same year, the Sixth Games were held in Guangzhou, and the Liaoning team was even more inevitable for the football championship of the National Games. After fighting all the way, the Liaoning team and the host Guangdong team met in the final. Before the game, a reporter interviewed Huang Chong, asking him to predict the final result with Guangdong. "We win 3-0," Huang Chong blurted out almost without thinking, and the next day, the news was published in the newspaper by the local media in Guangzhou. As a result, on the day of the final, as long as Huang Chong took the ball, tens of thousands of spectators in the audience almost unanimously booed him collectively. In the end, Guangdong relied on Mai Chao's goal to win the final 1-0 and lift the Six Games championship trophy. And this defeat has also become a knot that Huang Chongjiu can't forget, even if he still has a grudge when he sees Mai Chao many years later. In 1988, Huang Chong was selected for the Chinese national team coached by Gao Fengwen and participated in the 9th Asian Cup with the team, and in the group stage, Huang Chong made two starts once and came off the bench twice, failing to score. In the end, the Chinese team won the fourth place in this Asian Cup. And this became Huang Chong's only national team experience.

In the 1993 Seventh Games, Liaoning eliminated their old rival Guangdong 2-1 in the semi-finals, avenging the last National Games. In the following final, Liaoning welcomed the host Beijing team, and In the first half, Ma Lin shot from a distance to take the lead. In the second half, Huang Chong's goal was swept away and then the next city was swept to help Liaoning win 2-0. At this point, the Liaoning team finally lifted the National Games championship trophy again after the 1975 Three Games. Huang Chong also finally made up for his regrets at the last National Games. The seven-game champion is also the last piece of the puzzle for the Liaozu Ten Champions.

After retiring, Huang Chong has been engaged in football youth training. In 2017, Huang Chong served as an assistant coach of the Hainan Boying team in the Chinese Second Division. In 2019, Huang Chong was hired as the head coach by the Hainan Lingshui Dingli Football Team (China Champions League).
