The year 2023 marks the 131st anniversary of the birth of martyr Yang Yin.
In order to inherit the red and honest culture and continue the spiritual blood of the Communists, the original musical "Yin Red Kapok" jointly produced by the Zhongshan Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Xinghai Conservatory of Music Committee will be performed at the Guangdong Friendship Theater at 20:00 on the evening of December 29 to 30. The play was selected for the 15th Guangdong Provincial Arts Festival Outstanding Repertoire Exhibition.

The original musical "Yin Red Kapok" is a musical with Yang Yin, an outstanding early leader of the Communist Party of China and a famous leader of the labor movement, as the protagonist, with the touching story of Yang Yin's devotion to the Huanghuagang Uprising in 1911 to his heroic death in 1929 and his devotion to the revolution in 18 years.
Based on the real work, life, and emotional experience of martyr Yang Yin, the work establishes an image of a revolutionary hero who is flesh and blood, affectionate and righteous, righteous, and jealous of evil.

As one of the "100 heroes and exemplary figures who made outstanding contributions to the founding of New China", Yang Yin's heroic deeds should be remembered forever.
In 1892, Yang Yin was born in an overseas Chinese family in Cuiheng Village, Xiangshan County, Guangdong Province. At the age of 19, Yang Yin was influenced by his fellow villager Sun Yat-sen to join the League, and after the May Fourth Movement, he turned to Marxism. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1922 and was one of the leaders of the Guangdong-Hong Kong Strike and the Guangzhou Uprising, and was also one of the important members of the Communist Party of China in establishing the party's discipline inspection and supervision mechanism.
Before his death, he was the head of the Military Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. On August 30, 1929, due to the traitor's informant, Yang Yin, Peng Pai and other comrades died heroically in Longhua, Shanghai.

Industry leaders serve as the main creative team to create high-quality products
The musical "Yin Red Kapok" invited many big names in the domestic industry to serve as the main creative team. Among them, Zhong Hao, a famous director and president of the China Musical Theatre Association, is the chief director, Zhao Haifeng, a senior repertoire planner and director of the repertoire creation department of the China Opera and Dance Theater, serves as the artistic director and lyrics of the theme song, Professor Tao Mo, composer and vice president of the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, serves as the music director, and Yang Shuo, deputy secretary general of the China Musical Theatre Association, serves as the screenwriter.
At the same time, the play brings together Wang Chuanliang, Wu Huimin, Xu Le, Xie Yun, Feng Guodong and other famous domestic actors, and more powerful musical stars Ma Tianlong, Zhao Yanbo, Zhao Muchen joined.

Different from the narrative mode of traditional song and dance dramas, the original musical "Yin Red Kapok" uses the rapid switching of a variety of scenes, operatic musical expression with the narrative rhythm of the musical, integrates drama, music, dance and other artistic means, and takes Yang Yin's touching family, love, comradeship, and revolutionary feelings as the main line, showing Yang Yin's passionate and great life course in front of the audience.
In order to truly restore the legendary story of Yang Yin's martyrs on the stage, the main creative team visited Yang Yin's former residence many times, visited Cuiheng village, learned about Yang Yin's revolutionary deeds and the history and culture of Zhongshan, and conducted script reading and music audition under the kapok tree in the back garden of Yang Yin's former residence.

Artistic director Zhao Haifeng introduced that the title of "Yin Red Kapok" comes from the century-old kapok tree next to Yang Yin's former residence, and kapok is a hero flower. "Yin Hong" chooses the character "Yin" of the martyr Yang Yin, and "red" is the true color of revolutionaries. The creative process of heroic stories is also a process of learning Xi heroes and approaching heroes. Zhao Haifeng said: "We hope to convey the emotion of learning Xi and the creative process to all audiences, especially young people, through our works. ”
