On June 2, 2019, Zhang Shu went to Hohhot, thousands of miles away, to carry out the work of eliminating criminal syndicates and eliminating evil clues, and when he returned to the station on June 4, he suddenly fell ill, and after rescue was ineffective, he died on the job.

Since the beginning of this year, Zhang Shu has been running on the road of sweeping away criminal syndicates and eliminating evil. From the end of February to the end of April, he traveled to Beijing on business. Shortly after returning home, he received the task of rushing to Arong Banner, 60 kilometers away from Zarantun City. "Although it is not far away, he does not have time to go home, and it is more than 20 days after he has been gone." Wife Zhang Qing recalled.

On May 24, Zhang Shu returned home. "He was tired and didn't forget to go into the kitchen and cook my best dishes for me." Zhang Qing choked on tears.

Only one week after returning home, Zhang Shu was again given the task of going to Hohhot City to carry out the work of sweeping away criminal syndicates and eliminating evil clues. This turned out to be the final goodbye of the husband and wife. On the same day, Zhang Shu suddenly suffered a myocardial infarction, and his life was frozen at 20:01 on June 4.

Zhang Shu has been a police officer for 36 years, of which 17 years are criminal police careers, participating in more than 3,000 cases, without a single wrong case.

Zhang Shu has a heroic feeling of evil and hatred, every time he investigates and solves a case, he is like a clockwork with a tight string, not to check the water, not to catch the suspect and vow not to give up.

In December 1985, just the day after Zhang Shu had just married, a robbery occurred in Kudihe Township, Zalantun City, and Zhang Shu participated in the investigation without saying a word. At that time, it was a winter night, the snow had just stopped, Zhang Shu and his colleagues followed the trail, over the mountains and mountains for dozens of miles, all the way to the suspect's home. The suspect was caught before he could share the money, and he was very surprised: "It was chased to the house so quickly..."

In 1992, there were frequent thefts in the east area of the railway line of Zalantun City Station, and Zhang Shu was ordered to investigate. For a full month, he rode his bicycle day and night to verify the case, and finally, this extraordinarily large series of thefts was solved.

After years of criminal police career, Zhang Shu has cultivated a pair of "fire eyes and golden eyes", showing extraordinary courage and responsibility. Zhang Shu's colleagues said that whenever faced with danger and difficulties, he was always the first to rush forward and block his colleagues behind him. In 2004, a child in the precinct was punished for stealing a bicycle. Zhang Shu often visited his home and encouraged him to reform himself and not give up his pursuit of life. Later, the child achieved excellent results in the college entrance examination and was admitted to a key university.
