Emperor Wen of Sui also introduced a new examination system called "Jinshike", which further expanded the scope of the selection of officials. In this exam, all candidates need to pass the assessment of poetry, scriptures and other aspects to test their comprehensive ability.
Although there were some problems with Emperor Wen of Sui's probation system, it was still of positive significance on the whole. It not only helped the imperial court select a number of outstanding officials, but also laid the foundation for the official election system in later generations. However, we should also be aware that any system has its limitations and cannot solve all problems once and for all.
