NBA's official rookie list: Wembanyama retains top spot, Holmgren No. 2, Warriors shooter No. 9
On December 21, Beijing time, the NBA officially announced the latest rookie rankings. Wembanyama topped the list for the second time in a row, Holmgren followed closely behind, and the Heat's No. 18 pick Harkes returned to the top three. On top of that, Jazz rookie Kiyont George recently dropped out of the top five due to injury, and Warriors shooter Podzemski remains in No. 9.
1. Wembanyama (champion), Spurs, ranked No. 1 last week
场均:19分11篮板3盖帽
Wembanyama has been in good form recently, and he handed over 30 points, 13 rebounds, 3 steals and 6 blocks in the face of thick eyebrows, and almost helped the Spurs to a big comeback over the Lakers. He then faced James in the rematch with the Lakers and handed over 13 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists to help the Spurs end an 18-game losing streak. He has posted a double-double in eight consecutive games, a league record for a junior player.
2. Holmgren (22 lists), Thunder, No. 2 last week
场均:16.9分8篮板2.8盖帽
Holmgren has shaken off his previous slump and put in impressive performances over the past week. He combined for 15 blocks against the Nuggets and Grizzlies, becoming the first rookie player since Duncan to make 7+ blocks in a row, and the sixth player in history.
3. Harkes (No. 18 pick), Heat, No. 4 last week
Averages: 13 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game
Hack's streak of double-doubles came in 13 games, ending with just eight points against the Timberwolves and missing out on Wade's 15-game streak for a franchise record. Despite this, he remains the best scorer of the season and has become an indispensable core of the Heat's rotation.
4. Brandon Miller (Eye of the List), Hornets, No. 3 last week
Averaged 14.8 points, 4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game
The past week has been a terrible one for Miller, who and the Hornets are on a five-game losing streak after a dismal four-game losing streak. Miller missed all 5 three-pointers in the game against the Raptors, seriously missing his personal crosshairs.
5. Osar Thompson (No. 5 pick), Pistons, No. 6 last week
Averages per game: 10 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists
Osar Thompson is still the best blue-collar player of the tournament, but he can't help the Pistons end their losing streak, and the team continues to break the record for the longest losing streak in franchise history. Recently, the Pistons are interested in reducing Osar Thompson's playing time, which is not good news for him.
6. Lively (No. 12 pick), the Mavericks, was No. 7 last week
场均:8.9分7.7篮板1.6盖帽
7. Kiyont George (No. 16 pick), Jazz, No. 5 last week
Averaged 10.9 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists per game
8. Kalidou Koulibaly (No. 7 pick), Wizards, No. 8 last week
Averages: 9.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists per game
9. Podzemski (No. 19 pick), Warriors, No. 9 last week
Averaged 8.3 points, 5 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game
10. Canilla (No. 52 pick), Trail Blazers, No. 10 last week
Averaged 7.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1 assist per game
