He was brave and not afraid of death, but he loved the soldiers, and when the team was resting, someone wanted to settle in, and he took the people away with a bayonet

Yao Weishan was upright and stubborn when he was young, bold and unruly. A big man with a dry and thin 1.77 meter, walks with the wind, and scolds people without ambiguity, and his recklessness is no less than that of Li Yunlong in "Bright Sword".

In 1945, Yao Weishan's county brigade was partially reorganized into the 23rd Regiment of the Third Division of the Eighth Route Army of the Regular Army (evolved from the 23rd Regiment of the New Eighth Brigade of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army, and was restructured into the 614th Regiment after liberation). Yao Weishan was previously the squadron leader of the Guantao County Brigade, and after being incorporated into the regular army, he was appointed as a company commander.

At that time, the 23rd Regiment was the main regiment of the Eighth Route Army's Southern Hebei Military Region, and it was one of the regiments with the strongest combat effectiveness. Yao Weishan was not angry, thinking that it was the mule that saw him on the battlefield, and no one was a bad breed.

Soon the troops received combat duty. As soon as the battle began, Yao Weishan's marksmanship opened the eyes of those veterans, and that was why the bullet was not a waste. At the critical moment, Yao Weishan took the lead in taking off his shirt, shirtless, and issued an order: "Take off my shirt and put on a bayonet in the whole company!" This group of shirtless eight-way rushed down, and the momentum really scared the enemy.

This battle was fought beautifully, and the task of the superiors was successfully completed. This is Yao Weishan's first battle after entering the regular army, his bravery and command ability are admirable, since then, no one dares to say cool words, everyone obeys his words. Yao Weishan said: "The soldiers of that era said that it was useless, so they admired those who were not afraid of death." I'm just going to let them see if I'm a bad breed. "He took the lead in order to make the soldiers understand that he was just as much a man as they were.

Yao Weishan is proud of himself, that is, since he started the revolution, he has always been a leader, and he has never been a soldier. After he joined the Communist Party at the age of 16, he directly became the village head, at the age of 17, he directly became the guerrilla captain, and then transferred to the county brigade as the direct squadron leader, and after being transferred to the regular army of the Eighth Route Army, he directly became the company commander of the Eighth Route Army.

According to Yao Weishan's own words, he has developed a bad problem along the way, likes to have the final say, has a good relationship with his subordinates and peers, and is righteous and enough for buddies. But he doesn't like his superiors, he has a lot of ideas, and he dares to contradict the leader, he usually likes to joke and say witty things, and when he sees unreasonable things, he doesn't show mercy at all. The superiors described Yao Weishan as a stone in the hair pit, smelly and hard, capable, and easy to use, but not liked. At that time, the staff officers and unit commanders in the headquarters were very scared of him.

However, for his own soldiers, Yao Weishan is a well-known calf protector.

Yao Weishan was originally the company commander of the main company of the 12th Regiment of the 4th Brigade of Liu Deng's 2nd Column. During this period, the original company fought a tough battle, suffered heavy casualties, and just carried out reorganization, after returning to the team, the company's leaders have been equipped, so Yao Weishan served as the company commander of the regiment's special service company.

The special service company consists of five platoons, namely a reconnaissance platoon, a guard platoon, a communications platoon, a telephone platoon, and a division number platoon. When I was in Dabie Mountain, because of the difficult conditions, I lacked everything, especially shoes, and I generally wore straw sandals made by soldiers, but they were not worn, and they wore out in a few days. Yao Weishan said that the hardest work is those scouts, others walk 100 miles, they have to walk 200 miles. I wear out a pair of shoes in a few days. Yao Weishan was worried that they would not have shoes to wear when they were on a mission, so he always had a pair of shoes in his backpack.

Because he was worried about the problem of shoes, over time, Yao Weishan developed a Xi that whenever the team went camping, the first thing he did was to ask the messenger to find shoes, but not for himself, but for his scouts. And Yao Weishan himself, wearing shoes is very casual. He usually wore homemade straw sandals, and in the winter the straw sandals were too slippery, so he simply marched barefoot. As a result, his feet were bruised and chilblain, and he often limped along like the warriors. Although he had horses, he had barely ridden them, and Yao Weishan said that his horses were used to carry the wounded and luggage.

His affection for the soldiers, the soldiers understood in their hearts. Therefore, his soldiers have always obeyed his orders, according to Yao Weishan's words, that is, "none of them are naughty and mischievous, and none of them are bad seeds when they start a war."

Once, after the battle was over, the troops were ordered to camp in a village, and Yao Weishan's spy company was assigned to rest in a landlord's compound. The troops were very tired, and after packing up, Yao Weishan ordered the soldiers to quickly open their backpacks and clothes.

At this time, several unit commanders of the regiment headquarters also came to this courtyard with a few people, and felt that the conditions here were good, so they told Yao Weishan that they wanted to live here, and asked him to camp elsewhere with the team immediately. In the minds of these people, they probably thought that if the higher-level authorities wanted to live there, everyone would give face, but they happened to run into Yao Weishan.

At first, the two sides were still discussing, but Yao Weishan didn't give face, and the other party was not polite, put on a leader's stand, and said to Yao Weishan in a commanding tone: "What if we have to live here today?" He kicked down the stool in front of him, stiffened his neck, and ordered the soldiers in a loud voice: "Come to a squad, give me bayonets, and blast them all out of me!" As soon as the soldiers heard Yao Weishan's words, they pinned their bayonets to the ground, put their waists against those people, and forced them out of the courtyard. Then it didn't work. The leaders of the regiment headquarters all know Yao Weishan's temper, and he can cause trouble if he can fight, and whoever takes him can't do anything, not to mention that he is not short of reason in this matter.

On the eve of a certain major battle, in order to get a detailed understanding of the enemy's troop deployment, the regiment sent scouts to reconnoiter the enemy many times, and the scouts were very tired for several days.

On this day, a scout ran back and forth for 1,200 miles, walked for a day and a night, and just returned, and after reporting to the regiment, he fell asleep at the entrance of the regimental headquarters because he was too tired. After the commander of the combat unit in the regiment learned the news of the scout's return, he immediately found the scout to learn more about the situation, but he did not expect that the soldier not only did not stand up and salute, but always answered the commander's question with his eyes closed, which made the commander very angry, so he complained to Yao Weishan and ordered Yao Weishan to punish the soldier.

Yao Weishan didn't speak on the spot, and after coming back to find the soldier and ask about the situation, he immediately let the soldier rest and didn't say anything else. Yao Weishan's idea is that it is not easy for a warrior, and he is still picky when he is tired like this. A few days later, when the unit commander saw Yao Weishan, he asked if the soldier had been punished. Yao Weishan was angry now, his face sank and he said loudly: "Didn't you shoot him?" The long one was speechless for a long time, and he heard that it was Yao Weishan's angry words, so he had to walk away with interest, and he never dared to mention this matter again.
