Hu Shi is a descendant of the Hu clan of Jixi Mingjing in Anhui. After the Tang Dynasty, the ancestor Hu Changyi was originally the 18th son of Li Ye, the 19th emperor of the late Tang Dynasty, Emperor Zhaozong of Tang. In March 904, Hu Changyi was born in the imperial palace, and his mother was Empress He. Shi Zhuwen (also known as Zhu Quanzhong) intended to usurp Tang and establish himself as emperor, forcibly moving Tang Zhaozong to luoyang's own sphere of influence. The situation was urgent, and Tang Zhaozong entrusted the loyal minister Hu Qing (i.e., Hu Sangong) with his young son to live in hiding. A month later, Li Ye was killed by Zhu Wen, and his wives and concubines were killed. Fortunately, Hu Qing risked his life to save him, and took his young son back to his hometown of Kaochuan in Wuyuan, Jiangxi, to live in seclusion, so that he could preserve Li Ye's bloodline. Hu Qing named Li Ye's young son Hu Changyi. Later, Hu Changyi grew up to be an adult, and at the age of 22, he learned the Zhongming Classics easily. Hu Qingfang told him his true identity, and took out the preserved imperial clothes and treasures to play, Hu Changyi was horrified, howling and crying, so he decided not to serve the country of his surname, lived in seclusion in the countryside, opened the Ming Jing Academy, preached and taught karma to solve the puzzle of creating a Manager. He also instructed his descendants not to return to the Li clan in the future. In order to distinguish it from other Local Hu clans, it was named mingjing hu clan.
