IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS, I HAVE BOUGHT THREE ELECTRIC VEHICLES, NAMELY ID.3, KAIYUAN A07, AION S MAX, among which only Qiyuan A07 has achieved the standard external discharge of the whole series, and the other two cars do not have external discharge function.

The ID.3 is a model priced at 160,000 yuan or more, and the AION S MAX model with a guide price of 160,000 yuan is not equipped with this feature.

External discharge is a very useful configuration, a large part of the population needs this configuration, the vast majority of electric vehicles, the battery pack capacity is more than 40kWh, and the battery pack capacity of some vehicles even exceeds 70kWh, the giant power station can support users to use electricity outdoors, and there is no problem with emergency lighting in case of power failure.

All in all, products with external discharge function can further squeeze the value of EV BEVs.

For example, with a small induction cooker, outdoor electric drill, cutting machine and other equipment below 3kW, the trouble of finding a power supply is completely saved, and a car can solve the problem.

There is a model of external discharge, in fact, it has become one of the necessary configurations for many people to buy electric vehicles, if not, users may give up, of course, there are external equipment, but the purchase cost also needs to be as high as 2000 yuan, some models are not even suitable for the purchase of qualifications.

The external discharge is divided into two sections, one is V2L, which is the ordinary power supply to household appliances, generally within 6.6kW, and the other is the more cool V2V, that is, the external discharge to charge another car.

Two days ago, the vice president of Wuling Division wanted to do a survey and ask users whether they need to discharge this function.

The comment area does not show a one-sided trend, there is a lot of controversy about this function, some people need it, and some people don't need it, which is a good thing, indicating that the V2L configuration is being accepted by more and more people, and the reason why some people don't recognize it is very simple, because there is no demand for this function.

But there are always people who need this configuration, for example, some people like to open a manual transmission, which does not mean that the automatic transmission is worthless.

Car companies are not equipped with V2L configuration, the core key is that the cost will increase, DC and AC power need DCAC conversion, and the cost of chargers and discharge motors is not low. Some companies think that external discharge is useless, so they directly cut this configuration.

At present, the only brand equipped with external discharge function may be BYD.

For example, on the cheapest Seagull, it is also equipped with an external discharge function, and 3.3kW external discharge power is sufficient, but many more expensive models cannot do it.

The reasons are not difficult to analyze.

On the one hand, BYD knows better what the user's needs are, and external discharge can help some user groups open the door to a new world, and once the sense of experience appears, it cannot be pulled back, on the other hand, BYD's huge sales can effectively share the production cost, and the price of collective procurement is lower.

Many companies know that external discharge is a plus point, but unfortunately, the cost can only choose to give up, and naturally some user groups will be lost.
