In early trading on December 4, COMEX gold futures once stood at the $2,150 / ounce mark, refreshing a record high, and spot gold soared again in the short term, rising to $2,144 / ounce, refreshing the record high set in May this year.

On December 1, local time, gold futures for February delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose 1.6% to close at $2,089.70 per ounce, a record high, and formed a "golden cross", which means that there is further room for further growth in the future. Fed Chair Jerome Powell said in his speech on Friday that it was "premature" to discuss a rate cut and said further rate hikes were likely. The bank believes that the slowdown in U.S. economic growth in 2024 is a high probability event, and 2024 will usher in U.S. interest rate cuts and a weakening dollar, which is good for gold prices and gold stocks.

China Securities Construction Investment said that in the future, the data of the U.S. economic slowdown will bring greater flexibility to gold prices, from the Fed's interest rate hike to the process of interest rate cuts, nominal interest rates drive real interest rates downward, which will continue to provide momentum for gold.
