On November 6, local time, OpenAI announced the launch of a custom version of ChatGPT on its official website. According to reports, with this version, anyone can easily create their own GPT without coding. From now on, users can create GPTs and share them publicly. In addition, later this month, OpenAI will launch the GPT store. Once in the store, these GPTs are searchable and may climb the leaderboards.
Also on the same day, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced at the company's first developer conference that ChatGPT currently has 100 million weekly active users.
A chatbot (originally called a chatterbot) is a software application or web interface designed to simulate human conversation through text or voice interactions. Simpler chatbots have been around for decades, and more modern chatbots are typically online, using artificial intelligence (AI) systems that are able to maintain a conversation with the user in natural language and mimic how humans behave as conversation partners. And in the past two years, the field has received a lot of attention due to the release and popularity of OpenAI's ChatGPT (using GPT-3 or GPT-4) in 2022, followed by Microsoft's Bing Chat and Google's Bard.
From "conversations" with the deceased to daily emotional companionship, chatbots have evolved into different forms and are used in different use scenarios.
