Macau Headlines: A delegation of nearly 50 Macao entrepreneurs organized by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) to participate in the "6th China International Import Expo" (CIIE) said that the members of the delegation had gained something. In addition, on the second day of the Expo, two Macao enterprises signed cooperation documents with Portuguese-speaking countries, giving full play to Macao's role as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.

During their stay in Shanghai from 4 to 7 November, the delegation visited a number of CIIE venues to experience first-hand the multi-faceted international atmosphere and interact with businessmen from all over the world to grasp and understand the cutting-edge information of various industries including medical care, technical equipment, food and service trade.
Some members said that this year's CIIE was held entirely offline, with a large overall scale, new products and high technical content, which opened their eyes and deeply felt the expectations of exhibitors and participants from all over the world to expand the Chinese market, and was optimistic about China's future development prospects. Through the business matching service arranged by IPIM, a number of members have met with representatives from institutions and enterprises from Hebei Province and Shanghai Municipality to further explore the space for cooperation in modern finance, convention and exhibition, culture and other industries, and some of them will open up the IP cooperation market in East China for the first time.

At the same time, the delegation met with the Secretary for Economy and Finance, Mr Lee Wai Nong. While listening to the preparations and expectations of the industry, Mr Lee Wai Nong also urged enterprises to seize the opportunity of the CIIE and integrate into the overall development of the country through the open window of the National Expo, and at the same time give full play to Macao's advantages as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, jointly develop "1+4" industries, cultivate more new economic growth points, and achieve moderate diversification of Macao.
The delegation was also invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Shanghai Representative Office of the Macao General Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises, during which they were briefed on the latest development of the Hongqiao International Central Business District in Shanghai. Visitors to the Exhibition and Exhibition Centre of the Chamber of Commerce of Alcoholic and Food Chambers of Macao Portuguese-speaking Countries and the Art Museum set up by Macao enterprises in Shanghai will enhance the exchange of knowledge and cooperation opportunities between Macao entrepreneurs across industries, and provide valuable practical information for enterprises interested in expanding their business in Chinese mainland through mutual interaction.

In addition, IPIM has set up the "Food and Agricultural Products Pavilion – Food and Beverage Pavilion of Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries" and the "Trade in Services Pavilion – Professional Services Pavilion of Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries" at the CIIE, with a total area of 660 square metres.
For six consecutive days, the two themed pavilions showcased products made in Macao and Macao brands from 41 Macao enterprises, as well as food and beverages from Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as a wide range of professional services.
Hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the 6th CIIE was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from 5 to 10 November.
