Dimensity 9300 released! Antutu crushed Qualcomm with 2.2 million points, is it really so fierce?

After the release of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3, various brands have said that there will be new products launched for the first time. Now another flagship chip is also here, and it is the Dimensity 9300.
The officially announced features of this product have comprehensively crushed Qualcomm, and it adopts a very unique design, so what is it? Let's take a look.
The newly launched Dimensity 9300 uses a full set of ARM's latest architecture CPUs and GPUs, which set the tone for the chip's hardware specifications.
However, unlike Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and its own Dimensity 9200, the Dimensity 9300 adopts an all-core strategy, which has become its most unique place.
What is the Grand Core? That is, the entire chip consists of 4 Cortex X4 and 4 Cotrex A720 to form an octa-core CPU.
Some people may be puzzled when they see it, isn't this still a large and small core, but all of them have been enlarged.
On the surface, this seems to be the case, but in fact, traditional mobile phone SoCs work with small cores most of the time, and when the small cores are fully loaded, they will call the big cores to participate. The Dimensity 9300 completely overturns this design logic.
According to the design of the Dimensity 9300, all the computing load of the mobile phone is completed by the large core. Although the power consumption of the large core is high, it has high efficiency, short time to participate in the calculation, and most of the time it is in standby mode, so as to reduce the power consumption of the mobile phone.
According to MTK's official data, this design can reduce power consumption by up to 33% compared to the previous generation Dimensity 9200.
This design idea makes logical sense, but it lacks verification. Ideally, there is a real hope of achieving such an effect.
Why Ideal? Because the scheduling of computing resources in the actual use of mobile phones is a completely different matter, especially if there is continuous low-load computing, it is difficult to say whether the power consumption will decrease or increase under this concept.
This is like the nominal fuel consumption or electricity consumption of a car, which you can't reach in reality, a reason.
As for the GPU part, there are not so many bells and whistles, the Dimensity 9300 is equipped with Immortalis-G720 MC12 1300MHz, which continues to rely on multi-core, high frequency to achieve higher performance, and in the official comparison, the running score surpasses Apple and Qualcomm.
With such a strong GPU, the Dimensity 9300 has naturally also introduced cooperation with game developers, strengthened the ray tracing effect, and showed 60FPS ray tracing games, so I won't show which games specifically.
But this also brings another problem, GPU is also a big energy consumer in SoC chips, didn't MTK do something? The official PPT shows that the peak performance is increased by 46% and the power consumption is reduced by 40%, which is actually a bit close to the data announced by ARM itself on the G720.
As for the most intuitive way to show performance, of course, it is to "run a score if you are not convinced". The Dimensity 9300 has a score of 2.2 million in the laboratory of the Antutu V10 and a daily score of about 2.13 million, which is higher than Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen3. The official also announced other running scores, mainly because the multi-core results are very eye-catching, after all, the whole nuclear design is good.
Judging from these data, the Dimensity 9300 has high performance, low power consumption, and much higher energy efficiency. What about everyday use cases? The official data on the use of the bright screen is more worthy of reference.
In shopping, video, short video, and social networking scenarios, the Dimensity 9300 consumes about 10% less power on average than its predecessor. Obviously, mobile phones are a complex system, and if you want to reduce energy consumption and extend battery life, it is not something that can be solved by a single point of force.
Of course, AI must be said in 2023. The Dimensity 9300 has a built-in APU790, officially described as "generative AI", which can be fully involved in generating pictures and articles, and can also make voice assistants easier to use.
One of the benefits of stronger mobile AI performance is that many more powerful functions can be implemented locally, so that all functions will not be lost when the network is disconnected.
In the ISP part, Imagiq990 has been introduced, which also has AI computing capabilities. With the support of powerful computing power, more shooting effects can be realized, such as all-pixel focus and 2X lossless zoom when taking photos, as well as a special computing module to handle OIS stabilization.
Imagiq990 is also more deeply involved in video optimization, such as intelligent layering of the picture, special optimization for each layer, such as real-time adjustment of lighting effects, blur, etc., including special noise reduction calculations for the radio part.
