Northern Qi Dynasty: A dynasty ruled by animals and beasts During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the Xianbei people in the north unified the north and established the Northern Wei Dynasty. Later, Northern Wei split into Eastern Wei and Western Wei. In Eastern Wei, the Gao family controlled power. Following the example of his brother, he included his father's brother's wives and concubines in his harem. He was addicted to alcoholism, and once drunk, he would wear women's clothes and jump in the streets. He even killed his favorite concubine, made its bones into a lute and played it, crying as he played.
Eventually, he died at the age of 31. After Gao Yang's death, he was succeeded by his son Gao Yin. Before his death, Gao Yang asked his sixth brother Gao Yan to assist his son. However, the young emperor was no match for his sixth uncle. After Gao Yang's sixth brother succeeded to the throne, he killed Gao Yin. Except for the criticism caused by this incident, his character is quite good. However, he only served as emperor for a year and died of illness. Before he died, he thought of his young son and how he got the throne, so he took the initiative to give the throne to his ninth brother Gao Zhan, hoping that he could spare his son and keep his bloodline. After Gao Zhan succeeded to the throne, he followed the example of his second brother Gao Yang and carried forward the characteristics of the Gao family's regime.
However, he was eventually overthrown by the Yang family in the west, and the Northern Qi dynasty experienced six emperors and died after 26 years of rule. Looking back at the entire history of the Northern Qi Dynasty, we can't help but ask: How can such a family ruled by animals and beasts rule a dynasty for 26 years? Their actions are so cruel that they treat their people and their loved ones without mercy. The way they rule is so absurd that it's unbelievable.
