Guanghan City, is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Deyang City, ancient known as Hanzhou, Luocheng, located between Chengde, with a jurisdiction area of 549 square kilometers, a permanent population of 626,000 people, the famous Sanxingdui ruins are located in Guanghan City. The historical status of Guanghan is very high, he is the origin of the ancient Shu people, more than 4,000 years ago the Shu people lived and multiplied in the Area of Guanghan Sanxingdui. After the Qin Dynasty destroyed Bashu, Ba County and Shu County were established, and Luo County was established in Guanghan. After the establishment of the Western Han Dynasty, Shu County and Ba County were established as Guanghan County, and the county was located in Luo County (present-day Guanghan City), and Guanghan had jurisdiction over 13 counties, mainly including Deyang, Mianyang, Guangyuan, Suining and the surrounding areas, and Guanghan was equivalent to a provincial-level administrative region at this time. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty set up the Thirteen Prefectures Thorn History Department, set up Yi Prefecture in the southwest region, and the Yizhou Thorn History Department was located in Luo County, until the late Eastern Han Dynasty (194 AD) When the Yizhou Thorn History Department was moved to Chengdu, the Guanghan Dynasty in these 300 years, equivalent to the administrative, economic and military center of the southwest region.
During the Southern and Northern Dynasties of the Jin Dynasty, the jurisdiction of Guanghan County was much reduced, but it was still the center of the county administration, and Guanghan County was abolished during the Sui Dynasty and Luo County was retained. At the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, Deyang County was established (Deyang County was set up in the Suining area during the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Huan Wen took the name, but not the current Deyang, and was soon abolished), and later Wu Zetian set up Han Prefecture in Guanghan, with jurisdiction over Luo County, Deyang, Mianyang and Shifang, which was roughly similar to the jurisdiction of today's Deyang City, and since then the relationship between Deyang and Hanzhou (Guanghan) began in the Tang Dynasty and lasted until the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, about 1000 years. During the Kangxi Dynasty, Hanzhou was demoted to Sanzhou and did not administer other counties, at this time Deyang was a county (belonging to Mianyang), Guanghan was a county-level city (belonging to Chengdu), and Guanghan was nominally higher, but in fact it was almost the same.
During the Republic of China, Hanzhou was changed to Guanghan County, and in 1935, Sichuan Zheng was unified, guanghan and Deyang counties belonged to the 13th administrative district supervision district (Mianyang), in 1953 Guanghan County and Shifang were assigned to Wenjiang district, and Deyang County belonged to Mianyang. In the 1950s and 1960s, the state carried out large-scale third-line construction in Deyang, forming a modern large-scale industrial base and urban framework, and in 1983, the prefecture-level City of Deyang was established. In 1983, Guanghan and Shifang were incorporated into Chengdu with the Wenjiang River, but five months later the two counties were transferred to Deyang City. Deyang ruled Guanghan to this day.
In modern times, Guanghan only stayed in Chengdu for five months, and was ruled by Deyang for nearly forty years, but Guanghan had a deep Chengdu complex and did not recognize Deyang, which may be due to the fact that Guanghan has always been the superior of Deyang in history, plus Guanghan itself has a strong economic strength. In fact, this phenomenon is very common, for example, langzhong's status is higher than that of Nanchong most of the time, but now Nanchong's jurisdiction over Langzhong has no resistance, because Langzhong's economic strength is weak; and Guangdong Jieyang and Puning, Foshan and Shunde, Puning and Shunde are also very resistant, mainly because the economic strength of the two places is very strong.
Some Guanghan people have always wanted Guanghan to join Chengdu, but this possibility is getting smaller and smaller, mainly because:
First, the main development direction of Chengdu is to go east, strengthen the docking with Chongqing, and build a twin-city economic zone. This is Chengdu's economic task, but also a political task, so chengdu annexed Jianyang, built Kaifu Airport in the east, set up Tianfu New District in the southeast, Guanghan is not on the main axis of Development in Chengdu, so the possibility of Guanghan joining Chengdu is very small;
Second, after the merger of Chengdu into Jianyang, the regional GDP ranks seventh in China's cities, the permanent population exceeds 20 million, and the built-up area of the city reaches 950 square kilometers, no matter from which point of view, Chengdu is a big city, it is impossible to merge into Guanghan, otherwise it is too ugly to eat;
Third, Deyang is an important industrial city in Sichuan, although the economic growth has slowed down in recent years, it is still an important pole of Sichuan's economy, if you let go of Guanghan, Deyang's economy will directly fall below 200 billion, from second-rate to third-rate, whether for Deyang City, or Sichuan Province can not accept.
Therefore, the merger of Guanghan into Chengdu is almost an impossible hope, in this case, it is hoped that the two sides will strengthen cooperation and vigorously develop the economy, after all, living well is everyone's pursuit.
