The second climax of the plot is the seventh episode "The State of Qin", which tells the story of Qin Shi Huang (played by Hai Yitian) after unifying the six kingdoms. In order to consolidate his rule, Qin Shi Huang adopted brutal measures such as burning books to pit Confucianism, building the Great Wall, and collecting harsh taxes, which caused public resentment. At the same time, he was also deeply tempted by the art of immortality, looking for elixirs everywhere, and even sent Xu Fu (Yu Rongguang) to lead 3,000 boys and girls to the sea to find Penglai Immortal Island.
However, the art of immortality he seeks is a huge lie, and he ends up dying of dune poisoning. His death is concealed by Li Si (Zheng Zeshi) and Zhao Gao (Lin Yongjian), who tampered with the edict, made the second Huhai emperor, and murdered the crown prince Fusu and the general Meng Tian. Shortly after the death of Qin Shi Huang, the Chen Sheng Wuguang Rebellion broke out, the Chu-Han rivalry began, and the Qin Dynasty quickly collapsed.
