Initially, Wu Chun's parents bought an electronic keyboard for Wu Chun to play, and later after finding a professional teacher, they borrowed money to buy a piano for Wu Chun, and her mother even spent 3 years of hard work, and finally got the opportunity for Wu Chun to learn from Chen Wan, the head of the piano department of Wuhan Conservatory of Music.
With a good enlightenment teacher, it laid a good foundation for Wu Chun's future piano career.
In 1992, the second year of Wu Chun's study with Chen Wan, his parents divorced, and his father took everything in the family, not even living expenses left for them. Mother and son lived on their mother's meager income, let alone continue to learn the piano.
But her mother, Wu Hongzhang, only because her son was talented in music as her teacher had said, she did not want to cut off her son's piano learning. She didn't want to ruin her son's future because her marriage failed.
In order to let Wu Chun continue to learn piano, Wu Hongzhang had to work four or five jobs a day, and he could only sleep for two or three hours a day, and he didn't even have time to eat. At that time, Wu Chun was just 11 years old, and In order to exercise his son, Wu Hongzhang let him be in charge of the family and gave him 10 yuan a day, which was the living expenses of their mother and son for a day.
Wu Chun said: "I started to be a "little housekeeper" from that time, about a year, I was responsible for cooking in the canteen, settling accounts, at that time I and her ate a vegetarian dish a day a meat dish, and then breakfast and dinner were buns, steamed buns and porridge. ”
Even in such a difficult environment, Wu Hongzhang did not give up on continuing to provide Wu Chun with piano learning, and Wu Chun was also very aware that he had his mother's insistence behind him, so he just had to work hard to do his own thing, just like his mother always said to him: "Problems can always find a solution, believe in mother." ”

Because of Wu Hongzhang's efforts, Wu Chun felt that he had to work hard, had to come up with achievements, and could not let his mother sacrifice so much in vain, so although Wu Chun worked hard, he also had pressure.
Once Wu Chun wanted to go to Hong Kong to participate in the final of a piano competition, and all the costs added up to about five or six thousand at a time, Wu Hongzhang in order to let Wu Chun participate smoothly, she put all the money together and borrowed another one or two thousand yuan, before sending Wu Chun to the competition.
Before leaving, Wu Hongzhang said to Wu Chun: "My mother will not send you, nor will she pick you up, because there is no travel fee to the airport at home." And Wu Chun also patted Wu Hongzhang's chest and said, "Mom, you can rest assured, I will definitely take the bonus back and return this money to you!" ”

Arrived at the airport, because of the weather, Wu Chun's flight was delayed, she walked a lot of roads, very hungry, but the airport things are too expensive, she is reluctant to eat, can only carry hard, she was hungry for more than 7 hours and finally waited for her son's flight to land.
When Wu Chun saw Wu Hongzhang at the airport, Wu Chun cried, but Wu Hongzhang hugged his son and told him: "We do not talk about heroes by one success or failure, I believe you can sum up the experience and lessons from this competition." ”
<h1>Taking all his belongings from home to study in Ukraine, he comforted each other with more than 500 letters</h1>
Because Wu Chun had the strong backing of his mother, he took all the household belongings prepared for him by his mother for him for $3,000 and went to Ukraine to study.
If it is difficult to say that learning piano at home has already suppressed Wu Hongzhang to catch his breath, why does Wu Chun still have to run abroad? Didn't he add a bigger burden to his mother?
Wu Chun herself said that because of one of his performances, Professor Popova of the Odessa Conservatory of Music in Ukraine happened to be in the right place when she was lecturing in Wuhan, and she admired Wu Chun very much, and wanted to accept him as a student, plus people who studied piano dreamed of studying in the birthplace. That's why I made the decision to study in Ukraine.
At that time, 3,000 US dollars was only enough for Wu Chun's tuition and living expenses in Ukraine for a year, and they did not think about what would happen later, but they did not want to miss this opportunity.
Later, Wu Hongzhang continued to work four or five jobs a day in China, and when Wu Chun did not attend classes abroad, he would go to deliver milk and newspapers to earn his own living expenses.
16-year-olds leave their mothers for so long, but long distances are expensive, and they keep in touch with one letter a week, writing more than 500 letters in total for the first six years. It wasn't until later that they could write letters every day via e-mail.
<h1>There is a heart like gold</h1>
Wu Chun not only understands his mother, but also has a grateful heart for his mentor.
In October 2001, the first Gilliers International Piano Competition was held in Odessa, Ukraine, when Wu Chun's mentor Professor Alexander collapsed due to overwork and sudden heart attack at the scene of the competition, which caused Wu Chun a lot of blows.
Without the instructor's on-site guidance, Wu Chun's cooperation with the orchestra also became a problem, making him emotionally unstable. He told his mother about his troubles, and Wu Hongzhang told him that the best way to mourn his mentor was to give full play to what he and his mentor had learned, so that everyone could see his achievements.
With the encouragement of his mother, Wu Chun readjusted himself, communicated with the orchestra again, and let himself play the best side.
So in that competition, Wu Chun not only won the first place, but also had a prize of $3,000. However, he did not take the bonus for himself, he told his mother that he wanted to donate this money to the tutor's family, because without the mentor there would be no him today, although they themselves are also very difficult, but the mentor's favor he must repay!
Wu Hongzhang was touched by her son, and she found that her son grew up and had his own ideas, and as a mother, she must also support him!

After graduating with a master's degree in 2003, Wu Chun should have gone directly to Germany to study for a doctorate in Hanover, but the visa did not come down, and he could only study double doctorates in performance science and music theory in Ukraine until he went to Germany in 2005 and then read a doctorate in virtuosity.
Wu Chun said that people who learn piano generally have two ways out, either to become a performer or an educator. And Wu Chun hopes that he can stand on both the stage and the podium.
In 2003, he received a master's degree in performance and music theory and went on to pursue a ph.D. in piano performing arts and a ph.D. in music arts.
In 2004, he was admitted to the Solo Klass Master Class of the Hannover Academy of Music, Drama and Media in Germany, where he studied for a doctorate in piano performance under the renowned piano master Vladimir Krainev.
He received his Doctorate in Performing Arts in Piano at the Odessa State Academy of Music in Ukraine in 2006 and a Doctorate in Music Andiology in 2013.
In 2014, he received his PhD as a performer at the Hannover Academy of Music, Theatre and Media in Germany with the highest honors.
