Female Red Army soldiers participating in the Long March need to meet three conditions stipulated by the Central Committee: first, they must be members of the Communist Party of China and absolutely reliable ideologically and politically; Secondly, they must have the ability to work independently and know how to deal with the masses; Finally, be physically fit and able to adapt to harsh environments. Women who meet the first two conditions will be notified to go to the Su District Hospital for a medical examination. At that time, more than 100 female Red Army soldiers received medical examination notices, but after strict examination, only 20 were finally physically qualified. The other 10 were not medically examined, but were directly added to the list because they held more important positions. The 10 people include Deng Yingchao, Cai Chang, Liu Qunxian, Jin Weiying, Chen Huiqing, He Zizhen and so on. At the beginning of the Long March, in the face of an increasingly severe and bad situation, these female Red Army soldiers put forward a slogan: "Do not fall behind, do not wear flowers, do not take prisoners, no 8 yuan!" This slogan reflects their strong will and determination. During the Long March, the female Red Army faced great difficulties and tests. In order to facilitate unified action, the Red First Army gathered the female Red Army and formed a women's team with Liu Qun as the captain and Jin Weiying as the political commissar and party branch secretary.
Due to the constraints, they did not receive much care, were treated the same as the male Red Army, and sometimes could only walk on their own feet. However, among these 32 female Red Army members, there is also a special female warrior, she is Yang Houzhen, the wife of Luo Binghui, the commander of the Red Ninth Army. Despite her small stature, she overcame all difficulties and finally reached northern Shaanxi victoriously, creating a miracle in the history of the Long March. Among these 32 female Red Army members, there are some who deserve our special praise. For example, Wei Xiuying is a notoriously "little man", but she carries the most stretchers and saves the most people. Once, when Deng Liujin had a fever, Wei Xiuying carried both her and Deng Liujin's backpacks on her back, supported the weak Deng Liujin, and even cut a stick for her as a crutch. At night, the two snuggle together, relying only on half a blanket for warmth. Deng Liujin saw that Wei Xiuying was exhausted, and he was really distressed, and said with tears in his eyes: "Xiuying, you go, leave me behind, if you want to die, I will die..." However, Wei Xiuying replied without hesitation: "No!" We can't all die! The revolution has not yet succeeded, and as long as I am here, I cannot leave you alone. "They supported each other and finally successfully completed the long march.
Unfortunately, of the 32 female Red Army members, Li Guiying and Kan Siying stayed behind for some reason. Li Guiying had difficulty walking and could no longer continue to fight with his troops. In order to protect their safety, the leader decided that Kan Siying would accompany Li Guiying to stay in the Meitong Mountain Area of Changning and be protected by the Meitong District Committee of the Communist Party of China. However, due to the treacher's whistleblowing, the partisans were surrounded by enemies. Li Guiying and Kan Siying were seriously wounded one after another, and unfortunately they were captured by the enemy when they ran out of ammunition and food. However, they remained steadfast and unyielding, and Li Guiying allowed the enemy to force a confession and lure, so that the enemy mistook her for a dumb woman. In the end, thanks to the efforts of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, they were able to escape from the mouth of the tiger. In the end, only 24 female Red Army soldiers triumphantly reached northern Shaanxi. Looking back on this history, we can't help but pay tribute to these female Red Army. They demonstrated their perseverance during the Long March and made great contributions to the Chinese revolution. Their bravery and sacrifice are exemplary for us to learn from.
