In august, the Niyang River Valley has a verdant mountain and pleasant climate. Walking into The Village of Taizhao on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, on both sides of the newly hardened street, brand-new Tibetan-style houses are scattered among the emerald green ancient trees.

70 years ago, the masses in this place helped to enter the advance troops of the Tibetan People's Liberation Army, opening a new history of the people being the masters of their own affairs.

Today, 70 years later, the taizhao villagers who live a well-off life have never had a sense of gain and happiness that they have never had before, continue to write a thick history of watching out for each other and helping each other, and then pass on the good story of strengthening national unity and building a beautiful Tibet.

General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out during his recent inspection in Tibet that Tibet was jointly developed by all ethnic groups, the history of Tibet was jointly written by all ethnic groups, and exchanges between Tibetans and other ethnic groups ran through the historical development of Tibet.

A city: through a thousand years of wind and rain

Taizhao Village belongs to Jiangda Town, GongbuJiangda County, Nyingchi City, Tibet, with 101 households and 445 people. It is not just a village, but an ancient city.

TaiZhao's original name was Jiang Da. In the 7th century AD, Tubo set up a post here, and Jiangda became an important node on the long Tang Dynasty Ancient Road and the Tea Horse Ancient Road. Legend has it that more than 1300 years ago, when Songtsen Gampo married Princess Wencheng, he took shelter in the cave in the west of the village, which was later known as the "Zao Rain Shelter Stone", and the cultural relics in the cave can be traced back to the 8th and 9th centuries AD.

During the Yuan Dynasty, Tibet had close exchanges with the interior, and the role of Jiangda Station became more prominent. In the Qing Dynasty, grain stations were set up here, and the general and foreign commissioners were set up here, "leading troops to defend the town with funds." Since then, the soldiers have been stationed here to change their guards, the grain and grass have been delivered and distributed here, the official documents have been passed here, and the stagecoach has galloped at both ends of the line.

The 98-year-old Tashi Wangza is the oldest person in Taizhao Village. He wears glasses, loves to read, and has a strong spirit. He said that the town was once bustling, full of shops, there was the famous Xiaobakuo Street and 4 temples with incense and fire, and there were government agencies, granaries, schools, post offices, etc., and merchants of all nationalities came and went endlessly.

The cemetery at the foot of the "Elephant Mountain" in the west of Taizhao Village is home to more than 120 Qing soldiers and many Merchants of Han, Naxi and other ethnic groups.

In the middle of Taizhao Village, Jiayang Tsering, secretary of the village party branch, led reporters to find the ruins of the Guandi Temple, leaving only the building base site and building outline. In 1912, The Sichuan Jingluo made Yin Changheng put forward the framework of The Western Kangjian Province, and Yin Changheng's character was Too Zhao, so he changed Jiang Da to "Tai Zhao".

The old man in the village said that in 1951, Yin Fatang, deputy political commissar of the 52nd Division of the 18th Army of the People's Liberation Army, led the army from the direction of Qamdo along the Niangpugou to Taizhao, where he rested for more than a month, leaving behind many stories of the unity of the military and the people. When it comes to these things, everyone is like a family treasure.

Ancient cities and new villages, after thousands of years of baptism of wind and rain, have accumulated dusty stories and told the past of exchanges and blending of various ethnic groups.

One way: sprinkled with unity and happiness

As an important site of the ancient trade route stretching the "roof of the world", Taizhao connects the two ends of the ancient road: one is the Central Plains, the other is Tubo; on the one hand, there are tea leaves and salt, and on the other side, there are medicinal herbs and furs; one end is connected to history, and the other is connected to the future.

Along this ancient road, there are Naxi men and Jian in Lijiang, Yunnan. In 1921, he came here with the Ma Gang as a businessman, married the Tibetan girl Sida, settled in Taizhao, and multiplied.

Ah Niu, a 67-year-old villager in Taizhao Village, the daughter of Hejian, said that his father led a family to reclaim wasteland to grow turnips, potatoes and Chinese cabbage, distribute seeds to neighbors, teach vegetable planting techniques, and become a production captain after liberation.

He Jian died in 1977 and was buried in Taizhao.

Earlier than Hejian came to Taizhao, there was also Tashi Wangza's grandfather. "Grandpa is from Beijing, Han Chinese. The most regrettable thing is not knowing his name. The old man Tashi Wangza is tough and tough, and is the "living dictionary" of Taizhao Village, "Grandpa came here to do business, and after losing money, he didn't even have the travel expenses to go back, so he stayed." ”

Villager Jue Arobu's grandfather, Liang Baotian, a native of Chongqing, came to Taizhao to do business around 1921 and started a family here, with 3 children.

In the eyes of the 49-year-old Kyaw Arobu, Grandpa is tall, has a long beard and likes to wear Chinese-style kaftans. The children of the village often sat in his arms and played with their beards.

Grandpa was responsible for taking care of the Guandi Temple and writing letters to the villagers. When he first came to Taizhao, he also sold tea and rock sugar. Jue Arobu said that Grandpa had never returned to Chongqing since he arrived here.

After the peaceful liberation of Tibet, teams of PLA fighters walked through here. "My father helped the People's Liberation Army to translate and act as a guide." Ah Niu said that the soldiers helped the villagers build roads and bridges and treated diseases for free.

The years flew by. Today, more than half a century later, this ancient road connected by Taizhao Village has long developed into a national highway and a high-grade highway, with a route in the sky and a railway on the ground.

The 46-year-old Shan Jinxiang, whose ancestral home is Linxia, Gansu, went to Taizhao Village with the engineering team to build a bridge in 2004, and got to know the beauty of a beautiful and kind Tibetan girl. Since then, Yamajinxiang has become a member of Taizhao Village, a family and a beautiful family, stable and happy.

The hardships of the ancient road have become the records in the books and the memories of the old people. And what stays here together is love, affection, family and country.

Family: Watch over a better life

Walking through the taizhao ancient village, we visited the descendants of the Han and Naxi ethnic groups door to door and listened to their stories about the family's past.

In 1951, the advance troops of the People's Liberation Army were stationed in Taizhao, and Hejian vacated a house for the People's Liberation Army to live in, and also made shoes and bullet bags for the officers and men of the People's Liberation Army. In 1959, the reactionary upper echelons of Tibet launched an armed rebellion, and the rebels tied up Hejian and tortured him severely. After all the villagers held Hada and pleaded bitterly, the rebels pushed Hejian down from the second floor in a group and seriously injured him.

Tashi Wangza remembers that his grandmother's name was Guihua and she spoke Chinese well. When Wang Qimei, chief of staff of the 18th Army, led the team to garrison here, her grandmother sent eggs to Wang Qimei and helped the People's Liberation Army as an interpreter. The chief of staff asked her why her Chinese was so good? She said her husband was Han Chinese.

Since then, listening to the party and following the party has become the unchangeable belief of the Taizhao people.

Ah Niu remembers that when he was a child, the houses of each family were dark and small, there were many people and few land, the children always liked to come to their homes, and his father always boiled potatoes for everyone to eat.

No matter how difficult the days are, Hejian has always taught the children to "study well and improve every day". "My father also adopted 3 orphans, two of whom grew up to become the People's Liberation Army, and my father told them to go to the army and 'make up their minds and not be afraid of sacrifice,'" Ah Niu said. ”

Ah Niu's husband, Qun Pei, lived with Hejian for more than a year. In the memory, before his death, the old man had been talking about how to develop production, telling them that "if they have it, others don't have it, just like they don't have anything."

Qun Pei served as a village cadre for 16 years, leading the villagers to erect electric poles to pull wires, change wooden roofs, build bridges, and build houses for families in difficulty, laying a solid foundation for the overall poverty alleviation of the village.

In 2015, his son Lobsang Cicheng took over the baton as head of the village council. Together with other village cadres, Lobsang Cicheng led the masses to organize farmers and herdsmen's processing cooperatives and tourism cooperatives, built parking lots, etc., received 540,000 tourists that year, achieved tourism income of 900,000 yuan, and led to an average income of 7,480 yuan for the masses, making the villagers' lives more substantial.

The brotherhood of solidarity and mutual assistance among various ethnic groups and the kinship of blood thicker than water have become the warmest memories of the Taizhao people.

Kyaw Arobu said that when grandpa died, he was buried according to Han Chinese customs. During the New Year's Festival, many people in the village will prepare incense, cigarettes, alcohol and other items to go to the cemetery to pay tribute.

Kyaw Arob's father, googau cattle, warned his children many times before his death: "You must do a good job in national unity, and in the future you will have the opportunity to go to Chongqing to find your ancestors and recognize your relatives." ”

In Shan Jinxiang's view, the people of Taizhao Village are very kind, "never bullying me, a foreigner, giving me a hukou and gladly accepting me." ShanJinxiang went out to work, dug cordyceps, built houses and plastered walls and floors, and was diligent and thrifty, and the villagers liked this foreign son-in-law.

More than half a century has passed, and the rushing Niyang River has testified that the "tree of national unity" that generations of Taizhao people have been watching with their hearts has become a forest.
