This battered 1962 Lockheed 1329 Jetstar belongs to Elvis Presley. It stood in the desert of New Mexico for nearly 40 years; Just the other day, it sold at auction for $ 260,000 (19,437,600 rubles).
An anonymous telephone bidder won the bid starting at $100,000.
Presley himself purchased the aircraft on December 22, 1976, for $840,000. The "King of Rock" used it and two other planes in his private fleet to transport his band on a national tour.
Interior of the aircraft: large sofa covered in red velvet and passenger seats that can be swiveled and reclined - up to 9 people in total. The plane's last owner was California businessman Jim Gagliardi, who bought the plane at auction in 2017 for $430,000.
He said he planned to use it to attract customers to his dealership, but never found time to ship the plane out of New Mexico, and he hasn't personally visited the plane since buying it.
