In the long river of time, there is a controversial figure named Qiu Huizuo. He was awarded the rank of lieutenant general in 1955 for his outstanding combat merits, and then became the head of the General Logistics Department of our army in 1959, working hard for 12 years and making a lot of contributions to the cause of the country. However, in the sixties, he also fell into a series of mistakes, and finally in January 1981 he was sentenced to 16 years in prison, beginning his long years in prison.

Ten years in prison, I thought that the years in prison would still take six years, but under the care of the organization, I was released on medical parole in advance and stayed in the ancient city of Xi'an. Although Qiu Huizuo has no formal work, the organization's monthly subsistence allowance of 150 yuan and ration of rice, flour, grain and oil have become an important source of livelihood. Fast forward to 1985, and Qiu Huizuo's living allowance increased to 200 yuan, which was enough to support their family of four. In 1992, his living conditions improved again, with a more spacious house and a car. However, even with transportation, Qiu Huizuo keeps a low profile and rarely uses the car, because he has long adapted to the life of ordinary people.

Under the care of the state and the government, Qiu Huizuo lived a comfortable and happy life in his later years. His wife Hu Min also died in 2015 at the age of 93. On July 18, 2002, Qiu Huizuo passed away at the age of 88, ending his rich and tortuous life.

This story tells us that life is full of twists and turns, but as long as you maintain a positive attitude and adapt to the environment, you can find your way back in life even if you fall into adversity. After his release from prison, despite the difficulties he faced, Qiu persevered, reintegrated into society, and enjoyed the peace and happiness of his old age.
