Xie Meifang, member of the Standing Committee of the Dong'an County Party Committee and director of the Publicity Department, introduced the situation of Dong'an County and the culture of Dewu, Qin Qi, deputy county governor of the county people's government, presided over the press conference, and Li Yong, secretary of the party group of the County Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, Television and Sports, introduced the activities of the China Dong'an Wulin Conference and the 7th Wushu Cultural Tourism Week.
According to reports, the China Dong'an Wulin Conference and the 7th Wushu Cultural Tourism Week will open on September 30, 2023 at Harmony Square in Dong'an County. This event is a major "cultural tourism and sports" activity sponsored by the Dong'an County Party Committee and the County People's Government, aiming to better inherit and protect the intangible cultural heritage "Dong'an Martial Arts", carry forward the Dong'an spirit of "advocating virtue and martial arts", display Dong'an's achievements in economic development and social progress in recent years, enhance cultural soft power, and promote the high-quality development of the county's economy.

The activity is divided into two parts: the pre-event and the main activity. The four activities of the Shunmei Cultural and Sports Performance, China Beautiful Village Square Dance Competition, Dong'an Wulin Conference's Folk Martial Arts Exhibition Competition, Dong'an Wulin Conference's Dong'an Boxing King Selection Tournament and Dong'an Wulin Conference's Taijiquan (Sword) Competition have been completed before September 23. The Yongzhou Youth Wushu Championship, the opening ceremony of the China Dong'an Wulin Conference and the 7th Wushu Culture Tourism Week, and the China Dong'an Wulin Conference will be held from September 30th to October 2nd, September 30th evening and September 30th evening.
Dong'an has been known as the "Xiang-Gui Corridor" and "Guangdong-Chu Gateway" since ancient times, and is an important passage for Hunan to communicate with the world, an important birthplace of Hunan-Xiang culture, and Shunhuang Mountain in the territory is the place where the ancestor of Chinese humanities, Shundi Nandi, traveled to hunt. After thousands of years of accumulation and connotation, Shunfeng Chuyun has made Dong'an the first batch of "national martial arts hometown" and the first "hometown of Chinese German culture", and is the only "double county of culture and martial arts" in the country. Dong'an even more advocated "cultivating virtue before martial arts" and cultivated the fine character of "advocating virtue and martial arts".

In recent years, Dong'an has promoted the "six advances" of martial arts into schools, communities, townships, enterprises, institutions, and military camps, and made efforts to build the county into a national-level martial arts training base, making Dong'an Wushu a "boutique plate" in the country's martial arts hometown. 68 primary and secondary schools in the county have comprehensively promoted martial arts into schools, unified compilation and training of a set of Dong'an boxing suitable for school promotion, nearly 500 full-time and part-time physical education teachers have become "martial arts coaches", and more than 60,000 primary and secondary school students have become the inheritors of Dong'an martial arts.
With the popularity of national fitness culture in recent years, Dong'an has integrated martial arts into its national fitness strategy and promoted the deep integration of culture and tourism through the "event +" model. Relying on the advantages of green water and green mountains, coupled with the national fitness boom, the sports infrastructure has been continuously improved, and it has successively hosted domestic and foreign sports events and activities such as the International Boxing Championship, the Hunan Provincial Youth Wushu Championship, and the Hunan Self-driving Tourism Development Conference of "Three Hunan and Four Waters, Meet in Hunan, Happy Driving Yongzhou and Enter Dong'an". During the event, athletes and their families "transformed" into tourists and enjoyed the scenery of Dong'an. Sports set up the stage, tourism singing, and the event economy has become a "traffic economy".
For the holding of the China Dong'an Wulin Conference and the 7th Wushu Cultural Tourism Week, the Dong'an County Party Committee and the county government attach great importance to, comprehensively deploy and carefully organize, and sincerely invite martial arts masters from all over the world to gather in Dong'an to compete in competition, and sincerely invite domestic and foreign tourists to Dong'an for sightseeing, leisure and vacation, investment and business.
