What many people may not expect is that the Iraqi army has introduced a lot of equipment developed by China in recent years, in addition to the Thunder Dragon fighter that everyone knows has been determined to buy, the rainbow series of drones have long been equipped with the Iraqi army.
Previously, Iraq has been equipped with a number of Rainbow-4B UAVs, which have played a great role in Iraq. However, what people did not expect was that Iraq's move caused dissatisfaction in the United States. In order to sing the praises of China-Iran drone cooperation, the US media has previously publicly published an article saying that there are only more than ten rainbow drones in Iraq, and because of insufficient maintenance work, only one of these drones can be used. Not only that, the US media also publicly spread rumors that the Iraqi army's intention to continue to introduce Chinese drones in the future will be affected.
Not only that, last year there were also foreign media claims that Iraq "worked hard to recover" the operation of the Rainbow-4 drone. Foreign media also claimed that in 2019, the "US coalition" also believed that Rainbow-4 had maintenance problems, and was later "shelved" because of contract issues. So, is that really the case? Is Iraq really not satisfied with this UAV? The answer is clearly no.
According to the latest news from relevant parties, Iraq has publicly displayed the completion photos of relevant personnel on the Iraqi side after participating in the Rainbow-5 UAV training, and the Iraqi side has also publicly displayed the details of the completion certificate. From the relevant video materials released by the Iraqi side, we can see that the certificate was issued on September 23, which means that these Iraqi trainees have just finished training the Rainbow-5 UAV.
It can be seen that since the Iraqi side is training new Chinese drone operators, it is likely to mean that Iraq will continue to introduce Chinese drones. Then, the rumors and smears of the US side on Sino-Iranian drone cooperation will also be self-defeating.
In fact, the performance of the Rainbow-5 UAV is very strong, and its overall performance can basically be compared to the MQ-9 UAV of the United States. The Rainbow-5 UAV has a range of more than 10,000 kilometers, can carry more than a dozen light missiles, and its price is much lower than that of similar UAVs in the United States, which can be called a veritable "high quality and low price".
Today, countries in the Middle East, including Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, etc., have been equipped with many Chinese UAVs, which shows that the performance of Chinese UAVs has been widely recognized by the international market. This cannot be changed even if Americans are very jealous.
