The US-led G7 has always spared no effort in suppressing China, especially the United States, Britain and Japan, and has never concealed its malice towards China.
However, according to a recent report by the Observer Network, the British side suddenly changed its normal situation and insisted on inviting China to participate in the upcoming Global Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit in November, despite Japan's obstruction.
British Foreign Secretary Cleavely even took a slap on China in front of the media! Cleverley said that the reason why the British side issued an invitation to China is mainly because of China's leading position in the field of AI, and no one can replace it for the time being. If the strong people in the field do not participate in the meeting, first, the summit will lose its meaning, and second, the risk of AI technology will be out of control, which is not conducive to the next development of countries such as the United States and Britain.
Although the British side said very beautifully, but the Chinese side could not believe it, after all, according to the consistent style of the United States and Britain, behind the show of favor to China, there will be tricks! Coupled with the fact that this is the first time that a senior British cabinet official has admitted to invite China to participate in the meeting, China needs to respond with a 120,000-point spirit.
So why, at the same G7, is Japan opposed inviting China to the meeting, while the UK disagreed, insisting on contradicting Japan? In fact, the G7 is "fighting infighting" because of China, in the final analysis, there are no more than three reasons.
First, the UK's invitation to China is based on protecting British institutions and infrastructure. Only when China agrees to this request can this cooperation proceed smoothly.
Secondly, the invitation of the British side does not mean that Western countries have completely recognized China's status in the field of AI, let alone these countries, and will not suppress China in the artificial intelligence industry after that.
Finally, the main reason why the UK hosted this summit with great fanfare is to prove its influence as a major power after Brexit. After all, in the G7, it is the United States, not the United Kingdom, that really holds the right to speak, and Sunak can't get an idea about something as big as making rules for artificial intelligence. This is an important reason why the other G7 countries finally agreed to invite China, despite their differences. Because in the final analysis, everyone is here to give the UK a show, and inviting such a heavyweight guest as China naturally has more advantages than disadvantages.
Of course, China did not expect much from these countries at the beginning. Especially the United Kingdom, even if the British side personally invites it now, it cannot cover up the deterioration of Sino-British relations. After all, according to previous revelations by the British media, Sunak intends to restrict the Chinese officials who participate in the meeting while inviting the Chinese side, and only the agenda that the British side feels is harmless, the Chinese side can participate. This kind of deserving and standing behavior is really disgusting!
Ironically, when the British side has all kinds of publicity about inviting China to participate in the conference, the Chinese side has always been very calm, and the Chinese embassy in the UK did not immediately explain whether the Chinese side would participate in the meeting, leaving the British side to sing a solo show.
As for why China's attitude is so? There are also two reasons.
First, China's strength in the field of artificial intelligence is well known, at present, China and the United States can be regarded as the leaders in this field, which is not recognized or denied by the United States and Britain. Therefore, even if the British side invites it, the Chinese side does not necessarily need to participate in person.
Second, China has long been aware of the purpose of this summit. In the current environment, the United States is bent on suppressing China's artificial intelligence development, in order to be famous, but also to its own suppression measures named "safeguarding national security and interests", but discerning people can see that the United States just wants to dominate the top. Therefore, as long as the United States and Western countries are involved, then the formulation of artificial intelligence rules must be aimed at containing China.
In this case, there is no need for China to rush to get shot! Compared with arguing about whether to participate in the meeting, China's top priority is to continue to maintain the advantage of industrial size, and strive to upgrade industrial power and quickly strengthen its own AI field.
