In recent years, based on reality, Fugu County has developed characteristic industries such as corn and chyme, extensively used water-saving irrigation technology, adjusted planting structure, and built high-standard farmland.
In early autumn, the reporter visited various places in Fugu to explore the scientific and technological "code" of agricultural development.

On September 5, in the village of Hard Road Tower in Hazhen Town, Fugu County, corn plants were crowded in the farmland, and the dark green leaves were intertwined. On the ground, thin black tubes extend deep along the corn walkway, through which the water and fertilizer needed for corn growth are precisely "fed" to the roots, and the corn seedlings grow strongly...
"The water body in the whole village is self-circulating, and the rainwater is recycled into a cistern, filtered and disinfected for irrigation." Qiao Yongxiang, an engineer and technician of the water and fertilizer integration system in Hard Road Tower Village, said, "We use the Internet of Things technology to use the water and fertilizer integrated system for precise drip irrigation, which is very water-saving and labor-saving. ”
In Donggou Village, Tianjiazhai Town, Fugu County, rows of vegetable greenhouses are filled with grapes, green peppers and other fruits and vegetables growing gratifyingly, and all greenhouses here are equipped with intelligent irrigation systems.
"We implement scientific irrigation based on accurate data, ensuring the quality of fruits and vegetables, and saving time, effort, labor and water." Gao Yongmao, secretary of the party branch of Donggou Village, said.
According to the statistics of the Agriculture and Rural Bureau of Fugu County, 1,874 vegetable greenhouses have been built in the county, and the vegetable cultivation area of development facilities is 1,144 mu. The projects extensively use irrigation systems for planting, which saves about 50% of water compared to traditional flood irrigation methods.
Adjust the planting structure and develop dry farming
Located in the town of Papaya in the central region of Fugu County, more than 10,000 mu of chyme will ripen in dozens of days and the pellets will be returned to the warehouse.
"We are an arid and semi-arid region, the terrain is high, water cannot be transferred in, and once it encounters a dry period, it will greatly reduce production." Yang Yongping, deputy mayor of Papaya Town, told reporters that in recent years, the town has begun to adjust the planting structure, planting chyme and millet on a large scale, and developing order agriculture.
Since the chyme basically does not need irrigation, it is particularly drought-tolerant, and the people of the town have changed the situation of "relying on the sky to harvest" in the past. "This year's chyme production is high, the market price is also high, and the benefits are good." Yang Yongping said.
In recent years, Fugu County has made new breakthroughs in the development of adaptive dry crops.
"At present, 105,000 mu of chyme have been planted in the county." Yang Huibin, deputy director of the Agriculture and Rural Bureau of Fugu County, said, "After years of comprehensive management and development, Fugu County has become a beautiful home suitable for living, working and traveling. However, water resources are still relatively scarce in some areas. To this end, all localities have adjusted their structures and vigorously developed dryland agriculture, with remarkable results. ”
18% of high-standard farmland
Fields into squares, canals connected, roads into networks... Walking into Taijiagou Village, Huangfu Town, a piece of high-standard farmland with drought and flood protection has given grain farmers a "reassuring pill".
"We regard high-standard farmland construction as one of the important guarantees to improve the safety of food production. High-standard farmland construction has turned small fields into large fields, increased cultivated land area, hardened water canals, and avoided problems such as running and dripping. Shang Baoming, deputy mayor of Huangfu Town, said that according to preliminary estimates, after the completion of high-standard farmland, the income per mu will increase by more than 200 kilograms.
According to preliminary statistics, since 2012, Fugu County has invested a total of 320 million yuan to build high-standard farmland, with an average investment of about 2,100 yuan per mu, and 150,000 mu of high-standard farmland has been built in the county, accounting for 18% of the county's permanent basic farmland area.
"The construction of high-standard farmland has improved the production conditions and ecological environment in the project area, significantly improved the utilization rate of water resources, improved the soil quality of cultivated land, enhanced the resilience of floods, and generally increased grain production and income." Yang Huibin said.
The data shows that the construction of high-standard farmland, the irrigation water utilization coefficient increased from 0.5 to 0.58, the crop output increased by more than 20%, and the average annual income of agricultural production increased by 30 million yuan.
In the past two years, a total of 30,000 mu of dryland water-saving agriculture has been developed, including 4,700 mu of "flood irrigation to drip irrigation", 4,770 mu of "four-in-one" rainfall collection and supplementary irrigation in mountain and dry land, and 20,000 mu of rainfed integrated technology promotion. The basic conditions of agricultural production have been significantly improved, production capacity has been significantly improved, production costs have been effectively reduced, and production has been achieved without reducing production in a major drought, and a bumper harvest has been guaranteed by a small drought, effectively solving the dilemma of "relying on the sky for food".
