Music educator and composer, pioneer of music education in the history of modern and contemporary Chinese music, known as "the grandmaster of modern music education in China".

(1) In 1927, he participated in the establishment of the first conservatory in Chinese history, the National Conservatory of Music.

(2) He has taught a number of music theory courses and compiled many music textbooks and lecture notes, such as "Comparative Study of Chinese and Western Music", "Outline of the Evolution of Chinese Music in Past Dynasties", "Piano Textbook", "Harmony And Acoustics", "General Music", etc.
