FireBot, a fireproof tank robot that can save lives in fire, is released for $90,000

According to reports, FireBot is a remote-controlled robot that can withstand high temperatures of up to 650 degrees Celsius. At such scorching temperatures, firefighters in protective suits can only withstand about 15 minutes, while robots can work longer.

FireBot can run for four hours at a time, using jagged "arms" to move, a bit like tank tracks, and can climb stairs in burning buildings. The robot also uses MIMO wireless technology, which can transmit data to a receiver up to 0.9 miles (about 1.45 kilometers) away.

In addition, the robot has built-in sensors, including high-definition optical and thermal imagers, as well as various equipment for detecting dangerous gases. It can also check the content of carbon monoxide and hydrogen cyanide, effectively searching and locating trapped people, as well as nearby hazardous chemicals.

Despite its boxy appearance, the device runs fast. FireBot claims to move twice as fast as firefighters in full personal protective equipment, which can average up to 45 pounds (about 20.43 kilograms).

The robot is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2024 and will sell for at least $90,000. In addition, the fire department can also reduce expenses by leasing.
