The mascot of the Hangzhou Asian Games, also affectionately known as the "Three Little Ones", how were these three little ones born, and what unknown stories happened in the process of birth? Today, we will approach the main designer of the mascot of the Asian Games, Zhang Wen, a teacher at the China Academy of Art, and his design team.
Zhang Wen and his design team are testing and tweaking an AR digital interactive system to be placed in the Asian Games esports venue. In April 2019, the Hangzhou Asian Organizing Committee solicited the design of mascots from around the world. In July of the same year, Zhang Wen and his team submitted a paper to the Asian organizing committee, and three months later, their design was successfully shortlisted.
Zhang Wen, mascot designer of the Hangzhou Asian Games: We have about four or five groups, one similar to the competition players, and then we start to communicate and exchange with many experts and scholars, which is actually a selection and selection process.
In the end, after 6 rounds of major revisions and 20 rounds of minor revisions, Zhang's team's design draft was determined to be an official plan, and in April 2020, it was officially released to the world. In order to highlight the characteristics of Hangzhou's digital city and Zhejiang's water culture, the team designed the three mascots Qiang, Chenchen and Lianlian as fish-shaped robots, and also represented the three major World Heritage sites of Liangzhu Ancient City, Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and West Lake.

It comes from the shores of West Lake, so Lian Lian gives people a temperament like a little girl in Jiangnan, a little warm man, a little trick-or-treater, and a little cotton jacket.
After the release of the mascot, the work of Zhang Wen and his team is far from over, and they continue to innovate and explore the use of the mascot to better demonstrate Hangzhou's unique advantages in digital technology.
