People's Daily News, Beijing, September 14 (Yang Qian, Ardak) On September 13, the "Culture Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan" jointly organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China and the SCO Secretariat was held in Beijing. SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming and Kazakhstan Ambassador to China Nureshev attended the event and delivered speeches.
Zhang Ming said that the SCO attaches great importance to promoting cooperation in the field of culture and art. Since 2022, the SCO cultural and tourism funding project has been officially launched, and this year Almaty will become the SCO Capital of Culture and Tourism. He noted that culture is a powerful resource, with the power of creativity and solidarity. Today's event aims to showcase the cultural achievements of contemporary Kazakhstan, bring the SCO member states closer together, and strengthen mutual respect, mutual understanding and trust.

Nuryshev noted that Kazakhstan has assumed the rotating chairmanship of the SCO for a one-year term since July 5, 2023. Within the framework of the rotating presidency, some 130 events are planned, including the Council of Heads of State to be held in Kazakhstan. In addition, in order to further consolidate the "Shanghai Spirit", the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Beijing, the Secretariat of the Shanghai Organization and the SCO Committee on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation agreed to hold about 20 more economic, trade, cultural and cultural events during the year, with "Kazakhstan Culture Day" being one of the highlights of the series.

Kazakh independent designer brand "Ai-zer" brought a national costume fashion show, presenting a new look of traditional culture in the present. The Kazakh yurthouse was also moved to the site, in addition to displaying books published in China by Kazakh authors, pictures of Kazakh cities, natural landscapes and special cuisine.
