After Japan insisted on carrying out the plan to discharge the nuclear-contaminated water into the sea, for the health and safety of the people, and also to counter Japan, and urge them to stop this irresponsible behavior at an early date, China stopped the import of Japanese aquatic products and related products.
This has dealt a serious blow to the Japanese economy, and Japan has tried all kinds of ways to get China to stop sanctions, but it has not been successful, and China's attitude has always been resolute - first stop the sea drainage, and then talk about sanctions.

After diplomatic representations and threats to appeal to the WTO, the Japanese government began to pay money to "compensate" the fishermen, which people thought was the government's recognition of reality.
Unexpectedly, the next operation of the Japanese government instantly ignited the tense atmosphere between China and Japan.
On September 4, the Japanese Government issued an "ultimatum" to Okinawa, demanding that the Okinawa region cooperate in promoting the construction of US military bases.
Okinawa is located between Taiwan, China and the Japanese island of Kyushu, and the new base of the US military is to reclaim the sea and build an airport, apparently intended for China, which has instantly heated up the situation in the East China Sea.
So why did the Japanese government do this? Is it trying to use the United States to force China to accept the reality of Japan's pollution?
Japan forcibly occupies Okinawa
Nowadays, when people talk about Okinawa, they are all Okinawa prefectures in Japan, but the world where Okinawa belongs to Japan has not lasted.
Originally, the Okinawa Islands were an independent state, the Ryukyu Kingdom, which had an even longer history of trade and tributes with China, and Ryukyu was already a vassal state of the Ming Dynasty in the early 15th century.
(The Ming Dynasty included the Ryukyu Kingdom as a country not to be conquered)
In 1609, Japan invaded the Ryukyu Kingdom, but because it did not want to anger the Ming government, and in order to gain the benefits of trade with China, it still allowed Ryukyu to interact with China as an independent country.
However, after the Meiji Restoration, the Japanese government began to strengthen its control over the Ryukyu Kingdom, sending troops and officials to Okinawa to reorganize the political and military system of the Ryukyu Kingdom.
In 1872, the Japanese government officially declared the Ryukyu Kingdom a vassal state of Japan and changed its name to the Ryukyu Domain; In 1879, the Japanese government officially abolished the Ryukyu Kingdom and incorporated it into Japanese territory to establish Okinawa Prefecture.
After occupying Okinawa, the Japanese government implemented a series of Japanization policies, forcibly banned the original language and customs of Ryukyu and promoted Japanese customs, in an attempt to eliminate the independence consciousness and cultural identity of Okinawans.
These policies have met with resistance and resistance from Okinawans, but they have also caused confusion and confusion about Okinawans' identity and cultural identity.

In World War II, the Ryukyu Islands were attacked by war, and before the US army landed on Okinawa, the Japanese army killed more than 260,000 Okinawans, which shows that Ryukyu still did not completely surrender at this time.
After the war, according to the Cairo Conference, it was supposed to be jointly taken over by China and the United States, but due to the rapid civil war in China, the United States almost completely accepted the takeover.
However, due to the pattern of the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union, the United States chose to win over Japan as a pawn against the Soviet Union, and even chose to hand Okinawa over to Japan in exchange for Japan's "loyalty."
In 1971, the two countries secretly signed an agreement whereby the United States returned Okinawa to Japan, and in 1972, Japan officially took over the administration of Okinawa.
U.S. military base in Okinawa
Japan achieved its goal of forcibly occupying Okinawa, but the Japanese did not consider the Okinawans to be their own, on the contrary, because they achieved the occupation, they had a kind of rightful contempt for the Okinawans.
After the end of World War II, the United States began the Cold War with the Soviet Union, but the distance between the Americas and Eurasia was too far, and in order to contain the Soviet Union, the United States had to find allies from Eurasia.

On the European side, it is good to say that there are many capitalist countries in Europe, and the United States has similar cultures and ideologies to these countries, and it is easy to woo.
But the Asian direction is not so easy to handle.
The United States initially planned to win over the Kuomintang China, but unexpectedly the Chinese Communist Party won the Liberation War, and the United States had to change its attitude and set its sights on Japan.
Since the main contributor in the Pacific theater was the United States, Japan was originally mainly taken over by the United States to be responsible for "peaceful transformation", and the United States soon built many military bases here out of the need for "war preparation".
Okinawa, because of the intersection of the East China Sea and the Pacific Ocean, is an important passage connecting Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, and it is also a bridge between the Japanese mainland and the South Sea Islands, and it is strategically important, and the United States is naturally prepared here.
(Okinawa location)
The US military has set up a number of bases of the army, navy and air force in Okinawa Prefecture and has deployed a large number of troops and weapons and equipment, which has caused a serious burden on the people of Okinawa.
Moreover, the U.S. troops stationed there were also unruly and arbitrarily violated Okinawan women, causing serious physical and psychological harm to them and their families.
After Okinawa was forcibly annexed to Japan, they naturally had expectations for Japan and hoped that the Japanese government could "uphold justice", but the Japanese response made them very cold.
They have neither negotiated with the United States to "phase out" the U.S. military, as previously promised, nor have they negotiated with the U.S. to make U.S. military management stricter.
Instead, they put the blame on the victims, accusing the women of "trickery," and Japan turned a blind eye to the expanding U.S. military base and demanded the cooperation of the Okinawa people.

Today, Okinawa's total area is only 1,200 square kilometers, and the US military bases occupy 200 square kilometers in its territory, and after the US side "returns to the Asia-Pacific region", it intends to expand the US military bases on the island to contain China.
The people of Okinawa have fought countless times for this, but the results have not been satisfactory.
In 2018, the U.S. military wanted the U.S. military to reclaim the Kunoko area and move the Futenma U.S. military base here, and then revised the plan to demand more land improvement, but the Okinawa government rejected this plan and filed a lawsuit with the Japanese government.
The lawsuit, which had been deadlocked for years, came to an abrupt conclusion on September 4: Japan's Supreme Court rejected all of Okinawa's claims.
This verdict is not only a huge blow to the people of Okinawa, but also a very dangerous signal for the Chinese government.
The location of the new US military base is more superior than before, and the threat to China is also greater, not to mention that during this construction, the US military has built 2 new runways.
In recent years, relations between China and the United States have been tense, and although everyone has reason to judge that the two countries will not go to war, they must also remain vigilant, after all, Okinawa is too close to China.
If the Japanese government does this, I am afraid that it also has the willingness to use the military strength of the United States to intimidate China and force China to abandon sanctions, but their calculations are also destined to fail.
