Zuo Zongtang is the cultural business card of Xiangyin, and Xiangyin is also an important window for studying Zuo Zongtang's culture and displaying the spirit of Huxiang.
On the afternoon of August 30th, the "Xiangjiang River North" apprenticeship camp team came to Xiangyin County and visited Zuo Gong's hometown. How do Zuo Zongtang's symbols blend with the cultural industry of Xiangyin County? How did Zuo Zongtang's spirit turn the invisible into tangible and become the most eye-catching spiritual coordinate in this land?
The place where we stayed was named after Zuo Zongtang - Zuo Zongtang Hotel. As soon as I entered the hotel, a display board with Zuo Gong's life written on it came into view. The panels are placed closest to the gate, and Zuo Gong's statue stands on it. A simple and elegant tea table is placed on the side of the lobby, providing free Xiangyin County's traditional tea drink "Zuogong Ginger Tea" (also known as ginger salt tea) for resting customers, and the display board next to it details the practice and effect of ginger tea. Different from ordinary tea, "Zuogong Ginger Tea" is made of ginger, salt, sesame, green beans and other ingredients with tea leaves, and the mouth is spicy and slightly salty, with a special flavor.

After tasting "Zuo Gong Ginger Tea", we left for Zuo Zongtang Cultural Park. Along the way, the name "Zuo Zongtang" can be seen almost everywhere in Xiangyin County.
The local driver master told reporters that Xiangyin County also has many public places named after Zuo Gong Avenue, Zuo Zongtang Pedestrian Street, Zuo Zongtang Middle School and so on. "Where are you going?" "Go shopping at Zuo Zongtang Pedestrian Street!" The daily life of people in Xiangyin County is thus closely intertwined with the name "Zuo Zongtang".

Walking into the Zuo Zongtang Cultural Park Park, Zuo Zongtang stone carvings stand majestically in front of the square, and the Zuo Zongtang Avenue in front of him is written in a variety of fonts such as seal, subordinate, kai, grass, line, etc., and is decorated with the four gentlemen's patterns of plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum. Behind the statue is an arc-shaped stone carving cultural display area with the theme of righteousness of heaven and earth; On the right, Zuo Wenxiang Ancestral Hall, Wenxing Pagoda and other columns; On the left is the exhibition hall of Zuo Zongtang's life and deeds. Memorial Hall, Heaven and Earth Zhengqi Square, Wenxing Pagoda Square, Zuo Zongtang Statue, Merit Stone Pillar, Beacon Tower, Nianpu Avenue... Many buildings related to Zuo Zongtang gather here, constituting a public cultural place with a high concentration of Zuo Zongtang's spirit.

Walking into the Zuo Zongtang Memorial Hall, the first thing that catches your eye is the majestic scene of Zuo Zongtang's "coffin carrying to the west", above the vast Gobi, the veteran in his twilight years has a resolute look in his eyes, expressing his determination to recover the country with "carrying the coffin". The big character behind it "Qianqiu Unique Zuo Wenxiang" shows Zuo Zongtang's important position in history. Walking into the Progress Hall, historical plots such as "Xiangshang peasants, wizards of the world", "planning the shogunate, foreign aid to five provinces", "turning to the southeast, pioneering the ship administration", "recovering Xinjiang through Shaanxi and Gansu", "Huiqia and the two rivers, mighty Taiwan Strait", "Dying with hatred, returning to the hometown" and other historical plots unfolded, and the artifacts, ancient books and other cultural relics used by Zuo Zongtang before his death silently told Zuo Zongtang's life's achievements. The seventh chapter of the exhibition takes "Huxiang Wind Bone, National Hero" as the theme, using 12 creative art exhibition items, integrating multimedia equipment, combined with acousto-optoelectronic technology, and adopting situational and combined exhibition techniques to show Zuo Zongtang's magnificent life from various aspects such as politics, military, foreign affairs, and culture. Highly restored props and sets allow visitors to feel like they are in the scene and have an all-round understanding of Zuo Zongtang's ideology and culture. "We specially designed a ship experience area for students who come to study to play in middle school and better spread the spirit of Zuo Zongtang." As the hometown of Zuo Gong, Xiangyin County has the best preserved Zuo Wenxiang Gong Ancestral Hall in the country, which was listed as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units in 2013 and was restored and displayed on December 9, 2022. Inside it, there is a joint exhibition of Zuo Zongtang's calligraphy and yang calligraphy, which displays a total of 35 pairs (pieces) of Yinglian works, which is divided into an exhibition area for Zuo Zongtang's authentic calligraphy reproductions, an exhibition area for celebrity masters' evaluation works, and an exhibition area for contemporary calligraphy masters writing Zuo Zongtang's works. Among them, the authentic reproduction exhibition area takes the four characters of "Heaven and Earth Righteousness" written by Zuo Zongtang as the theme, and lays out four chapters of "Tian: Worrying about the World", "Earth: The Earth Has a Long Love", "Zheng: Keeping the Righteousness" and "Qi: Langlang and Clear Qi". Zuo Gong was proficient in writing and calligraphy all his life, and his Yilian writing was exquisite, his pen was strong, and his style was heroic, exuding an awe-inspiring grandeur of hesitation and ambition. "Walking into this exhibition hall gave me a shock." Lu Xiaochuan, president of the Provincial Yinglian Association, said when visiting the exhibition.
As the former residence of Zuo Zongtang, the willow garden, 16 kilometers away from Zuo Zongtang Cultural Park, carries the spiritual roots of Zuo Zongtang and plays the role of a cultural landmark. "The family is not selfish" "The economy is based on poetry books, and articles win the glory of mountains and seas"... Liuzhuang scenic spot, these shining words highlight Zuo Zongtang's clean government style and shine with the new brilliance of the times. Zuo Zongtang Memorial Hall, Zuo Wenxiang Ancestral Hall, and Liu Zhuang stand in three places in Xiangyin County, introducing the life story of Zuo Zongtang, spreading Zuo Zongtang's culture, inheriting Zuo Zongtang's spirit, and jointly connecting the cultural meridians of Zuo Zongtang's spirit in Xiangyin County, adding a strong stroke to the Huxiang cultural system.
The water town of Daze has shaped the soft and rigid character of Huxiang in Xiangyin, and created the spiritual inner of Zuo Zongtang's "no half an acre and worried about the world".
