On September 1st, the first pair of cable-stayed cables of the Yuxiang-Xiangfu Line High-speed Mozhai Wujiang Special Bridge was successfully installed, which kicked off the cable-stayed construction of the bridge.
Mozhai Wujiang Special Bridge is located in Pengshui County, Chongqing City, invested by China Railway Construction Chongqing Investment Group Co., Ltd. and China Railway Construction Port and Shipping Bureau, the bridge spans the Wujiang River, is a short tower cable-stayed bridge, with a total length of 708 meters, two-way four lanes, and a bridge deck width of 27.5 meters. The bridge is located in the "V" shaped deep cut valley of the Wujiang River, and the bridge has 5 main piers and 2 sotas, of which: the No. 3 main pier is 216 meters high, and the Sota tower is 44 meters high, ranking first among similar bridge types in Asia.
As the "lifeline" of cable-stayed bridges, cable-stayed cables are an important part of the bridge and play the role of a link connecting the cable tower and the main girder. The cable-stayed cable of the bridge is composed of a single epoxy steel strand with a standard strength of 1860MPa, which is a single cable surface and double row cable, arranged at the central partition of the main beam, and each cable tower is equipped with 21 pairs of 42 cables. The bridge has a total of 84 cables, each consisting of 73 steel strands. The first cable-stayed cable installed was approximately 85.5 meters long and weighed approximately 7.7 tons. The construction is divided into several processes such as ropeway pipe installation, lanyard, tensioning, and cable adjustment, and there are many installation and construction steps, and the process is more complicated. The cable-stayed installation mainly adopts the method of pushing the cable piercing machine and the winch circulation system, such as "threading needle lead" through the Sota cable saddle splitter, and the two ends are anchored in the beam end anchoring area. The successful installation of the first pair of cable-stayed cables provided valuable experience for the subsequent construction of the cable section of the bridge, and laid a solid foundation for the next step of the bridge.
It is reported that the total mileage of the Yuxiang-Xiangfu Expressway is 280 kilometers, consisting of three roads: Banan to Pengshui, Pengshui to Youyang, and Wulong to Daozhen, with a construction period of 6 years and an average bridge-tunnel ratio of 80%. After the completion of the project, it will further narrow the distance between the southeast region of Chongqing and the main city economic circle, and vigorously improve the radiation driving capacity of "one circle" to "two groups". At the same time, promoting the development of tourism industry along the route is of far-reaching significance for alleviating the congestion of the existing Yuxiang-Xiang Expressway, strengthening the close connection between various districts and counties in southeast Chongqing, promoting the integration of transportation and tourism, and driving the sustained and rapid economic and social development along the route.
