Jeon Ji-hyun is a Korean A-list actress. In the timeline of 2018, Xu Yijiang and Jiang Xianzu braved hardships and rushed to the road of "rescuing the victims trapped in Zhiyi Mountain". Only 10 minutes after the premiere, it opened the thrilling scene of landslides and huge rocks landing and almost hitting the rangers, and the audience was terrified.
On the other side is the current timeline for 2020. I don't know what happened to Xu Yijiang and Jiang Xianzu, the former was disabled and could only walk in a wheelchair, and the latter was seriously ill and could not wake up for a long time in a hospital bed.
But it is very strange: Obviously Jiang Xianzu is already lying in a semi-vegetative state lying on the bed, but there are repeated "mysterious signals that only Xu Yijiang and Jiang Xianzu know what it means" on Zhiyi Mountain, heading in the correct direction of Xu Yijiang's victims.
Who is this mysterious man? Why send a message to Xu Yijiang? Are they good guys or bad guys? The suspense quickly attracts the attention of the audience...
These are the contents of the first episode of "Zhiyi Mountain". The background of the story is clear, the suspense is eye-catching, and it is obvious that it is taking the "suspense + memory" route, and the past and the present are two parallel lines, revealing to the audience what Xu Yijiang and Jiang Xianzu have encountered in the process.
But unfortunately, from the second episode onwards, the whole story rhythm has become chaotic -
In terms of narrative rhythm, it is slow and unable to grasp the point. In order to lead to the important clue that "someone tied a yellow ribbon in the wrong direction on the mountain to lead the climber to a dead end", it took an entire episode to tell the story of Jiang Xianzu who was tricked into going up the mountain and found the yellow ribbon. Being able to understand the story requires padding, but with such a long time of preparation, it's hard not to make the audience feel incompetent.
The editing is even worse, without any hints and transition transitions, and what happened in the past and present in two time and space is "randomly interspersed", so that the audience cannot distinguish what happened in the past and what happened in the present. Judging from the two episodes of the story that have been broadcast and the 8-minute final trailer, "Zhiyi Mountain" tells the story of the supernatural crime that takes place in the mountains and forests.
The protagonist, Kang Hyun-joo, can see "the location of the victims in the Zhiyi Mountain, and the fragments of the upcoming victims' deaths." What caused Jiang Xianzu to become seriously ill and Xu Yijiang disabled was the horrific incident of "someone on Zhiyi Mountain who is killing people".
Looking at these two elements alone, the story of "Zhiyi Mountain" is actually very exciting. But the director's ability to tell stories is really poor: it has premiered two episodes, but it has not even explained a complete storyline, let alone using the same narrative line to connect the two elements of "foreknowledge ability and criminal homicide"...
One will be Jiang Xianzu and Xu Yijiang on the mountain to rescue the victims, Jiang Xianzu mysteriously said that he can see the victims covered in blood; the next will be Jiang Xianzu unconscious lying on the bed, but the other rangers in the Zhiyi Mountain saw the picture of a mysterious man who resembled Jiang Xianzu.
There are spirits and suspense, but as far as the current plot is concerned, there is no connection between the supernatural and the suspense, which directly leads to the positioning of the episode becoming unclear and seemingly unremarkable.

Isn't the story of "Zhiyi Mountain" not at all interesting? Not really. And the screenwriter of "Zhiyi Mountain" is the screenwriter of "Signal".
