In recent years, Tongchongkou Village in Xiangjiang Township has promoted the integrated development of intangible cultural heritage and tourism through various methods such as exhibitions, cultural performances, and interactive experiences, so as to promote tourism with culture and highlight culture with tourism, giving more connotations to the "Millennium Yao Village".
In the Yimian Hall of Tongchongkou Village, the villagers are taking advantage of the free time before the evening, under the leadership of team leader Zheng Qiong, to rehearse long drums and make full preparations for the evening performance. The long encouragement originated from the death sacrifice of King Pan, and was continuously created and enriched by the Yao people in their long-term production and life, forming 128 sets of content in ten aspects, such as basic grip, basic drum technique, and basic footwork, including the characteristics of "squatting and jumping, flashing and spinning, bending the legs and bowing the waist, twisting and changing positions", reflecting the hard work and love of life of the Yao people, and is a true portrayal of the production and life of the Yao people in art. It is precisely because there are many dance routines that it is easy to be chaotic if you do not rehearse frequently, and everyone needs to rehearse frequently on ordinary days.
"You have to practice often, don't practice often, sometimes forget the movements, the changes in movements are too much to remember, and people are old and can't remember the movements." Zheng Yanlin, a villager in Tongchongkou, said.
Tongchongkou Village has a performance team of nearly 100 people, all composed of villagers, who work during the day, rehearse in their free time, and perform on holidays and evenings. The wine is made of high-quality rice, mixed in koji, compacted in a barrel, dug a small hole in the rice, covered with a cotton cloth and sealed to wait for the aroma of the wine. Zheng Qiong would brew melon wine whenever she had time, and melon wine became her rich business.
"There are a lot of tourists coming, tourists come to play, he comes to try it, you have a good wine, I will buy some back." Say that my wine is delicious, fragrant and sweet. In the inn on the other side, Zhao Shiyu, a girl from the Yao family, was busy checking in for guests. Zhao Shiyu has used her vacation time to help the village take care of various things since she went to college, and after graduating from college last year, she chose to return to the village to build her hometown, and was appointed by the village as the housekeeping manager. It happened that on the weekend, many tourists came to the village, and Zhao Shiyu was busy early in the morning. The guest rooms of the village and these homestay inns built by the mountains are all managed and operated by the tourism company in the village, and the company and the villagers are divided into 3:7 ratios, and the guest rooms are equipped with Yao characteristics and modern electrical appliances and other service facilities, which well meet the needs of tourists for leisure and vacation.
"We have a total of 146 rooms and 184 beds, all of which can meet the needs of guests; Everyone lives in a room near the Yaoren River, and when you open the window, you can see the beautiful scenery of the Yao village. Room manager Zhao Shiyu said.
As night falls, on the long table banquet with the characteristics of the Yao family, the strong aroma of food comes to the nose, the villagers change into Yao costumes, sing a beautiful Yao family toast song, welcome guests from afar to come to Yao Village to play, Yao song continues to drink, even tourists who never drink, can't help but want to experience a handful of Yao family's "high mountains and flowing water", only then feel that this trip is not in vain.
