The three old men in the photo were plainly dressed, kind-faced, and very ordinary looking, and no one could have imagined that they were spies who had worked for the Kuomintang.
During the Liberation War, many people of the Kuomintang went to Taiwan because of the defeat, how did these three people stay? What kind of untold story do they have?
Radio repairman Zhu Rinpo
The old man in the blue shirt on the far right is Zhu Rinpo, who is 91 years old at this time.
Zhu Rinpo was born in Shanghai in 1922, and his parents died when he was young, leaving him and his sister to fend for themselves.
But fortunately, Zhu Rinpo met the noble man who changed his destiny, Chen Yibai, Zhu Rinpo's brother-in-law, and with his help, Zhu Rinbo entered the Zhejiang Police Academy to learn radio communication technology.
Zhu Rinpo was very talented in this area, and in order not to fall behind in his grades, he often studied day and night. But what he didn't expect was that after graduating from school, he would be assigned to the Kuomintang's military command department as a radio technician.
At that time, radio technology in China was not well developed, and on the battlefield, radio was often damaged by the Japanese army, and Zhu Rinpo often had to brave a hail of bullets to repair the station.
But Zhu Rinpo never complained, and although he did not have a good impression of the Kuomintang, he loved the job very much, and whenever he needed to repair the radio, he would definitely finish the work without saying a word.
When the Kuomintang was defeated and wanted to withdraw from Taiwan, Zhu Rinpo did not want to leave his sister behind. When he learned that his brother-in-law Chen Yibai also stayed on the mainland, he decisively chose to stay.
After the founding of New China, Zhu Rinpo used his skills to open a stall to repair electrical appliances, and like ordinary people, he started a family and lived an ordinary life.
But his past experience will certainly not make him happy forever. With his brother-in-law Chen Yibai being arrested and investigated, he also followed him to prison.
While he was serving his sentence, his wife also left him. Zhu Rinpo, who was alone, stayed here for more than ten years after being sent to the farm for renovation, and the villagers often asked him for help after learning that he could repair electrical appliances, and Zhu Rinpo also very enthusiastically agreed.
After the reform and opening up, Zhu Rinpo had a great interest in electrical appliances in the new era, and although he could no longer repair electrical appliances like he did in the past, he still insisted on learning new things.
He said that it is because of the party's leadership that the people's lives can be so happy now, and he can see so many novel equipment.

The smiling and kind old lady in the photo is named Wang Qinglian, who was 86 years old when this photo was taken.
Talking about her experience when she was young, Wang Qinglian burst into tears, if it were not for the life of that year, she would not want to have such an unruly identity.
Wang Qinglian is a native of Jiangshan, Zhejiang, the hometown of Dai Li, the leader of the Kuomintang's military commander. When Dai Li recruited troops for the military commander, he preferred to use Jiangshan people.
First, he believes that Jiangshan people are his fellow countrymen, and they are better attracted and more reliable. Second, Jiangshan's dialect is difficult to understand, which adds a convenience to the identity of the special agent.
And Wang Qinglian's ability to join the military command special agent is also inseparable from this. In 1932, when Wang Qinglian was four years old, her father died unexpectedly. Wang Qinglian's mother had to take on the burden of supporting the family alone.
In order to subsidize the family, Wang Qinglian's mother worked outside to earn money, while Wang Qinglian was handed over to her grandmother to take care of.
Although her life is tight, Wang Qinglian's mother does not want her children to work hard like herself in the future to get a small salary, and insists on sending Wang Qinglian to school.
Wang Qinglian studied for six years under the hard support of her mother, but the good times did not last long, Wang Qinglian's mother lost her job during the turmoil of the war, and Wang Qinglian could only drop out of school and earn some change by selling newspapers and cigarettes on the street.
In 1943, when the Kuomintang's Military Statistics Bureau came to Jiangshan to recruit troops, Wang Qinglian, who was sensible, thought that if she could work in the army, her mother's burden would be lightened, and she might be able to support her mother with a salary.
When Wang Qinglian's mother learned her daughter's thoughts, she cried and reluctantly asked her daughter to go away to join the army. But now that the mother and the two have eaten the last meal but not the next, Wang Qinglian went to join the army so that she could have something to eat.
In the face of reality, the mother had to let go of her daughter's hand. Fortunately, Wang Qinglian studied for several years and passed the selection exam smoothly.
Two months later, 15-year-old Wang Qinglian and a dozen other fellow villagers were sent to Chongqing. Here, Wang Qinglian first studied at a military academy for a while, and then was assigned to work in a printing house for a year.
Although the salary here is not high, Wang Qinglian is diligent and willing to endure hardships, and was soon transferred to the headquarters of the Military Statistics Bureau to learn the knowledge of translating telecommunications.
The management of the Military Statistics Bureau is very strict, and Wang Qinglian has to learn a large number of rune codes every day during the training period, as well as basic mathematical operation knowledge. Only Wang Qinglian, who has attended elementary school, has a lot harder time studying than others, so she has to pay more time than others.
Wang Qinglian said that in addition to working eight hours during the day, she also worked two hours at night, and she had deciphered more than 800 kinds of codes during the years she worked.
Although the work is hard, Wang Qinglian said that these were the happiest three years of her life, because this job made her safe and have a good salary.
Dai Li used her very much, and the salary he gave Wang Qinglian was given according to the rank of second lieutenant. During the break, the young and lively Wang Qinglian also likes to go to the song and dance hall to play.
But this kind of good days did not last long, after Dai Li's accident in 1946, Wang Qinglian's boss Jiang Yiying saw that she had no backstage, so he made things difficult for Wang Qinglian everywhere.
Wang Qinglian felt that her work was getting more and more depressed, so she took leave to return to her hometown in the name of taking care of her mother. After the defeat of the Kuomintang, colleagues from the Military Statistics Bureau sent a message asking Wang Qinglian to go to Taiwan.
But Wang Qinglian was unwilling to leave her hometown and leave the land where she had lived for many years, and more importantly, she saw the current situation clearly, and she understood that the Kuomintang, which stood against the people, would not end well, so she decisively chose to stay on the mainland.
After that, Wang Qinglian originally wanted to live an ordinary life incognito. But after being reported for her origin and work, she volunteered to go to the countryside and worked in the countryside for 23 years.
After 1981, the state re-promulgated the policy, Wang Qinglian lived in a house allocated by the state and began to live for the elderly, and received a pension every month.
Although Wang Qinglian was 83 years old when she took photos in 2013, she could still smoke half a pack of cigarettes every day, write and draw. She said: "Thanks to the country for raising me for 31 years, I never regret not going to Taiwan that year, and my current life makes me feel happy."
Dai Yiqian, a relative of the military commander
Dai Yiqian is the more special of these three, he is related to the leader of the military commander, Dai Li, according to the generation, he will be called Dai Li Ten Uncle.
At first, Dai Yiqian did not know that he was related to Dai Li, he joined the army at a young age and has been working as a clerk in the army.
In 1943, Dai Yiqian was assigned to work in the Jiangxi office. It happened that Dai Li was here in Jiangxi on business, and Dai Yiqian was responsible for receiving him, and after the two had contact, they realized that they were still a family.
Dai Li was a man of great affection, and he saw that Dai Yiqian was not valued in the army and did not do any important positions, so he transferred Dai Yiqian to the military command under his control.
Under Dai Li's arrangement, Dai Yiqian served as his confidential secretary. The people in the military command were very jealous of Dai Yiqian when they saw Dai Yiqian, an airborne cadre, but after learning that he was Dai Li's relative, they all befriended him.
Dai Yiqian was smart and smooth in dealing with the world, and soon mixed well within the military system. He said: "I was in a special scenery at that time, and whoever saw me had to say hello to me. ”
Until Dai Li's accident, Dai Yiqian lost his backer in the military command. After Mao Renfeng came to power, he was quickly squeezed by others, so he had to transfer from Zhejiang to work in Beiping.
During this period, Chiang Kai-shek ordered the arrest and persecution of Communists, and although Dai Yiqian did not directly participate in this matter, as a Kuomintang agent, he participated in the work of transmitting information in the middle, indirectly harming members of the underground party organization in Peiping.
After the defeat of the Kuomintang, he was also unwilling to follow the Kuomintang to Taiwan, so he followed several other comrades to submit to Fu Zuoyi's People's Liberation Army in Beiping.
After the founding of New China, Dai Yiqian chose to return to his hometown as an ordinary farmer and lived a life of farming.
But there is no impermeable wall in the world, and Dai Yiqian's identity was still found and reported to the relevant departments. After he was arrested, because of his good attitude, he was only sentenced to five years after confessing all his actions.
After he was imprisoned, Dai Yiqian's wife was very angry at him for hiding his identity and chose to take the child and marry someone else. When Dai Yiqian was released from prison, he became a lonely old man who was helpless.
Considering Dai Yiqian's frail and sick, the state arranged for him to enjoy his old age in a nursing home. Under the careful care of the state, he did not eat less in his eighties and could speak clearly to people.
Although his life was stable and happy, Dai Yiqian often felt lonely, and gradually, he had the idea of finding his colleagues. So he found volunteers who cared for the veterans of the Anti-Japanese War, hoping to find his former comrades with their help.
In 2013, with the help of volunteers, Wang Qinglian and Zhu Rinpo, who had survived to this day, were finally found. Although the three old men had never known each other before, they saw each other as if they had known each other for many years and talked about the past.
Although these three old men were once agents of the Kuomintang, they all had a heart to resist Japan and save the country when they went in and out.
It's just that under the torrent of the times, these little people cannot control their own destiny in many moments. But fortunately, in the end, all three made the right choice - to believe in the Communist Party and believe in the people.
