For the first time, flower vessels were used in award gift bouquets
The award bouquet released this time is titled "Fruitful", representing the sportsmanship of the Asian Games athletes who have overcome difficulties and never give up, and wished the athletes fruitful and honorable in the Asian Games.
Each bouquet consists of 14 types of flowers – rice ears and lotus canopies symbolizing harvest and fruit, Chinese self-fertile varieties named "Heart of Chizi", Phalaenopsis orchids representing the Asian Games "Hongyun Purple", and Hangzhou's characteristic plants Longjing tea and osmanthus branches.
Compared with previous large-scale competitions, "Fruitful" is the first time that the prize bouquet of flower vessels has been added.
The flower vessel shape is inspired by the official kiln flower yao of the Southern Song Dynasty in China, and is made from Dongyang wood carving, a national intangible cultural heritage. The design of Huayao has undergone 12 rounds of modification before and after, the overall height of 18 cm, very delicate and small, the bottle mouth integrates the elements of mascot and Qiantang tide, the undulating water pattern is taken from the poetic rhythmic beauty of Zhejiang landscape, and the shape of the bottle mouth mascot celebrates the joy of victory in the crown with a lively and cheerful attitude.
Zhang Wen, the person in charge of the design of the Hangzhou Asian Games award bouquet (flower vessel) and a teacher of the Professional Basic Teaching Department of the China Academy of Art, who is also the designer of the Hangzhou Asian Games mascot "Jiang Nanyi", said that the flower Yao fully pursues a "refined sensibility" in terms of proportion, size and hand feel. "When designing, we fully considered the ergonomic sense of size, different athletes, different heights, different body shapes, different palms of the size of the hand when holding the flower yao feeling, including how much the mascot can be exposed when holding the flower yao tightly, the fusion of flower patterns and other factors, and finally form a ratio similar to the golden section."
"Hua Yao was a bronze ceremonial vessel used to celebrate the joy of victory during the Warring States period, and evolved into porcelain for decoration during the Song Dynasty." Zhang Wen said: "Through this innovation of the flower yao, we hope that the award bouquet will be transformed from a simple bouquet of flowers into a permanent souvenir, expressing the joy of the winning athletes celebrating their victory." ”
Use Hangzhou osmanthus to present awards to let athletes feel the charm of Hangzhou
In the design, the osmanthus flower, which is the flower of Hangzhou City, also has a unique short story with the "Asian Games".
On March 7 this year, the Hangzhou "I contribute a strategy for the Asian Games" collection activity was announced, and the proposal proposed by the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Gardens and Cultural Relics "Let the osmanthus - the flower of the 'laurel' become the prize bouquet of the Asian Games" won the first prize (click to understand).

Osmanthus has been cultivated in Hangzhou for nearly a thousand years, "heavy lake stacking 巘 (yǎn) Qingjia, there are three autumn guizi, ten li lotus flower". At the same time, the laurel tree is closely associated with the champion in Chinese culture, and it is often used to congratulate the winner by "winning the crown".
"When the Hangzhou Asian Games is in full bloom, we recommend using osmanthus and laurel branches to make bouquets as award flowers, and using gold laurel, silver laurel and dangui to represent the names of gold, silver and bronze medals, so that athletes can feel the beauty of osmanthus in an all-round way in touch, smell and vision, so that the Hangzhou Asian Games will highlight the characteristics of Hangzhou." As the "foil" of the medals, the award tray and podium released this time were all designed by Zhang Junjie, the person in charge of the design of the medal "Hushan" of the Hangzhou Asian Games and the director of the Industrial Design Department of the China Academy of Art.

The design of the award tray is inspired by the Hangzhou Asian Games medal "Lake Mountain" - the surface of West Lake rippling in the breeze - combined with the flowing ribbon imagery in the core graphic "moist", neat and atmospheric. The theme color of "Rainbow Purple" also matches the color of the medal ribbon and the podium.
The outside of the podium adopts the theme gradient color of "rainbow purple" to convey the concept of vitality and innovation. The countertop adopts "ink white" color, showing the spirit of inclusiveness and harmony in Asia.
Zhang Junjie said that the award tray and podium have adopted a relatively simple form, but "simplicity is not simple".
The whole award tray is made of metal and aluminum integrated pressing molding, and the surface adopts water-based environmental protection coating, which is light, strong and environmentally friendly. The tray is about 52 cm long and can hold three gold, silver and bronze medals at the same time.

The podium is modular and each module is about one metre long and can be built to accommodate the number of winners in different sports. Anti-slip materials are used in the area where the athletes stand, which improves safety when receiving the award. At the same time, the front theme image board can be replaced and recycled to reflect the spirit of green thrift.
As the "highlight moment" of the competition, the award ceremony attracted much attention from the audience in the event.
