Israel, a nation of two wonders. First, let's explore the second miracle, its economic miracle. At just 15,200 square kilometers, Israel is close to Chengdu, China, but has given birth to thousands of startups and prosperity. The small country has the second-largest number of Nasdaq-listed companies outside the United States, behind China, with its 1.4 billion people and huge innovation investment. In 2020, Israeli tech startups attracted up to $14 billion in funding. In the fields of semiconductors, medical devices, military industry, solar energy, telecommunications and agriculture, Israel has always been at the forefront of the global industrial chain.

This miracle of technological innovation is not only due to Israel's geographical size, but also because they have been actively introducing and nurturing talent. Unlike the United States, Israel has established a unique system of scientific research and industrial transformation policies, which provides a solid foundation for their scientific and technological prosperity.

Israel's second miracle is its miracle of survival. In the early days of its founding, Israel experienced five collective attacks by Arab countries and five victories, but it also emerged in the Middle East and formed a military advantage.

At the micro level, however, Israel has not been able to defeat or tame the Palestinians, Syrians, Egyptians and Lebanese. The weak always have their own ways of resisting, and while Israel can defeat the Arab countries, it cannot eradicate the growing antagonism among the Arab population. As a result, Israel has been in a passive position in international public opinion, despite its efforts to reconcile with the PLO, withdraw from part of the occupied territories and support the establishment of a Palestinian State. This has also deepened Israel's close political ties with the United States, and has become the focus of anti-American sentiment among the Arab people in the Middle East.

To understand Israel's story, however, we need to go back much further. Martin Gilbert, a well-known British historian, a researcher at Merton College, Oxford University, and the chief policy adviser to the British government, has a complete record of the development process from the Zionist movement to the establishment of the State of Israel and the country's entanglement of peace and war through more than 200 precious historical pictures and historical archives.

However, despite the book's claim to reject "established ideas," it still adopts relatively vague ideas about the Zionist movement and the establishment of the State of Israel. They asserted the right of Jews to establish a homeland and a state in Palestine in the Middle East.

The ancient state of Israel has disappeared for thousands of years. During this time, Jews were scattered around the world, mainly in European countries. Although they focused on education, national identity, and cultural rituals, Jews made more attempts to integrate into their host countries over the millennia. Jewish solidarity made them jealous in mainstream society in many countries, limited their political participation, forced them to engage in business, and accumulated wealth, but also scapegoated for the failure of political, economic and social policies in some countries.

From the late Middle Ages to modern times, with the widening gap between the rich and the poor and the intensification of national contradictions, Jews have become victims of hatred of public opinion in many European countries, including Russia, France, Germany and other major countries. Although they actively participated in World War I, governments such as Germany maliciously advertised Germany's defeat as a result of Jewish profiteers colluding with the United States and Britain, and some Jews who had fought for the German army during World War I were imprisoned in concentration camps during the Nazi era.

The Zionist movement arose in the late 19th century to establish the State of Israel in Palestine, around Jerusalem, to protect Jews from persecution around the world. The problem, however, was that Jerusalem and its environs had a limited Jewish population in the late 19th century, while more residents were Arab in terms of national identity. After decades of mass immigration, by 1936 there were only 100,000 Jews in Palestine, while there were more than 600,000 Arabs.

This means

If the logic of Israel's statehood is justified, it will pose a serious challenge to the international community's statehood. After all, for thousands of years, different tribes, peoples, and nations have sprung up, collapsed, and merged in different lands, and it is undoubtedly a far-fetched logic of power to ask the inhabitants of one region to "give way" to make room for the establishment of another country based on history thousands of years ago.

Even more questionable is the persecution of Jews in European countries, which led to the immigration of Jews to Palestine to establish a state, crowding out the living space of the local Arab population. And then these countries recognize the status of the State of Israel internationally, how can this logic of "generosity" justify itself?

Moreover, after the end of World War II, only Germany faced the responsibility for persecuting Jews and provided reparations to Israel. Other European countries, including France, Poland and dozens of others, have been silent about their "black history".

A Brief History of Israel seems to use pro-Israel language when describing the conflict between the State of Israel and the Arabs after its establishment, viewing Arab protests as "attacks" or "attacks" and violence by the Israeli government and the Jewish population as "counterattacks."

However, real history is often not black and white. It is undeniable that in the process of Israel's statehood, Arabs have also suffered many injustices and lost their homes. In the international political arena, Israel's position is complex and changeable, supported by the United States on the one hand, and resented by the Arab people in the Middle East on the other. Resolving this complex issue requires more dialogue and compromise in order to achieve peaceful coexistence.

In short, Israel's two miracles, the economic miracle and the survival miracle, are the highlights of the country's history. However, understanding the country's history requires a more holistic view of the complex relationships between different groups with a view to taking more steady steps on the path to peace and prosperity. It is only through mutual respect and cooperation that Israel and Palestine can achieve long-term peace and prosperity, while also bringing more hope and opportunity to the world.
