Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel said on Thursday that the "Harry Kane effect" was already improving his squad ahead of Saturday's season opener against Werder Bremen.

Kane signed with Bayern and Tuchel said the "brilliant" England captain "had an immediate impact on the training ground".

"The way he works, the way he is in the dressing room, the way he does things, how humble he is, how zealous he is."

"He's the first to be on the training ground, he works with the reserve players, he's the one who looks to the future and inspires others – that's why he's a big star."

"That's the Harry Kane effect, and that's why he greatly improves our chances of winning tomorrow."

The former Chelsea manager confirmed that Kane "will start at Bremen on Friday" "if nothing special happens".

Bayern usually dominate at home but have struggled since Thomas Tuchel took over as manager in March.

After the fall of then-leader Borussia Dortmund on the final day, Bayern limped to the Bundesliga title on goal difference. In Tuchel's first month in charge, Bavaria were eliminated in both the DFB-Pokal and the Champions League.

Bayern defeated RB Leipzig 3-0 in the Super Cup on Saturday and Kane made his debut off the bench.

Tuchel said that although "this is the first time in his career that he has changed clubs, he is not worried about Harry's adaptation. ”

"Of course we don't know... But Harry is a very quick adaptable person and the players around him adapt very quickly. ”

'We managed to sign Tottenham Hotspur captain and England captain, that's what you'd expect, but when you get it, it's still impressive.

Tuchel also confirmed that injured captain Manuel Neuer will be "back in the squad in a few weeks". The boss clarified that the goalkeeper's comeback was the reason Bayern did not sign another goalkeeper after Jean Sommer moved to Inter Milan.

Neuer broke his leg while skiing last December and missed out on Bayern's remaining races.

'What I've seen is really impressive,' Tuchel explains, 'and it changed our plans. ”

"The first priority of all our plans is to give Neuer time to fully recover."

Bayern chief executive Jan Christian Dresson confirmed on Sunday that the club were "very close" to signing goalkeeper Kepa Ali Savaraga from Chelsea until the Spanish goalkeeper opted for a move to Real Madrid.
