Native to Southeast Asia, Thailand, Indonesia, Sumatra, Borneo and Java, it is a common ornamental fish. Fish are generally milky white or pale pink. There are also some kissing perch that are silver-gray or blue-green throughout, and a few are white. Each fin is transparent and slightly silvery. This is a typical tropical fish, tropical rivers are its most ideal habitat, even if the water quality is not very good, it will not affect the normal survival of kissing fish. Because the kissing fish itself has certain "scavenger" properties, small fleas in the water and moss microorganisms are their food sources. Therefore, when raising fish, it is often possible to put a kissing bass per box as a "scavenger".
The kissing perch swims very slowly, appears graceful and generous, and has a charming charm and ornamental value. Usually, the temperament is extremely docile and lively, so it is not suitable for polyculture with tropical fish that prefers quietness. It likes to swim in all layers of the water, but often stops at the bottom of the fish tank when resting.
